: Snapper News: Snappers Ice Pepper, Slay Knights

The Niagara Snappers got back on the winning track last night by taking both ends of a GHFL doubleheader to move to 5-1 in GHFL league play. 

Game #1 pitted the Snappers against the RHCP with the Snappers prevailing 8-5.  Todd "who's that bodybuilder" Dawdy carried the hot stick for the Snappers going 3-3 with a home run and 3 RBI's.  Kevin Newhouse was also 3-3 with 2 doubles before having to leave the game after being hit by a pitch in the leg.  Peter Dobbin, in his first GHFL action of the season also had a couple of hits and knocked is 3 runs as well.  Mike Bateman worked 6 strong innings to pick up the win with Byron Demoe coming in for the save.

Game #2 saw the North York Knights travel to NOTL to take on Niagara.  North York is a new entry to the league this year and bring alot of youth and energy to the game.  However, the power of the Niagara offense was on full display as the dispatched the Knights with an 8-1 mercy win in 5 innings.  Jarrod Burtt hit his team leading 5th home run of the season, collecting 3 hits and 3 RBI's in total on the night.  Peter Dobbin was once again a man on fire as he went 2-3 with 3 RBIs, and Todd Dawdy couldn't be stopped, going 2-2 with a walk and 2 RBI's.  Byron Demoe worked 4 innings to pick up the win with Jason Paylove working the 5th for the save.

Next action has the Snappers in Elmvale, ON on Tuesday June 17th to take on the Wyevale Tribe in a ISC Travel League doubleheader.  First game goes off at 7:30pm.  After that, the Snappers return to the familiar confines of Lancaster park on Thursday July 19th at 9pm as they take on the tough Niagara Falls Fury in GHFL action.
