Nearly everyone in the United States will be affected by cancer at some point in their lives. Members of the North High School girls basketball team are working to help them. The team is raising money to support Gilda’s Club, a local effort most recently led by Fox news anchor Randy Moore, that brings individuals affected by cancer together to support each other and provide assistance. 

On November 18, members of the basketball team will participate in “Playing to Assist, Assisting to Care,” a fundraiser that benefits Gilda’s Club. At the game, fans will wear black, signifying the common battle against cancer. Team members will take pledges for the number of assists they make during the game against Carmi-White County Lady Bulldogs. In addition to taking pledges for the number of assists made, donations will be taken and Gilda’s Club and North High School merchandise will be for sale with the proceeds supporting Gilda’s Club.
