Mission Statement
Our high school wrestling program is designed to develop a good attitude toward wrestling: to develop good, sound wrestling techniques that will work even at the highest levels of competition, to develop the mind and body as well as good character. And of course, to help each wrestler to learn to set their GOALS high and to teach them that it is through HARD WORK, over a long period of time and through SELF-DICIPLINE that these goals are reached.
"Attitude"
Our attitude is the primary force that will determine whether we succeed or fail. Life is 10 percent what you make it and 90 percent how you take it. Whenever you're in conflict with someone, there is one factor that can make the difference between damaging your relationship and deepening it. That factor is attitude. Thoughts, positive or negative, grow stronger when fertilized with constant repetition. The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible. No one knows what he can do until he tries.
"Character"
This is often a misused term, but let me define it for you in terms of a North Hardin High School Wrestler. A young man who wrestles for us must have respect for authority, trustworthiness, courtesy and above all, the ability to stand up at the most difficult times and do what is right. A young man who has character has the courage to stay away from people and situations that threaten his training rules, his wrestling eligibility and ultimately the team.
"Commitment"
There is a difference between interest and commitment; when you are interested in something you do it only when it is convenient; When you are committed to something you refuse to accept excuses, only results.
"Representative"
Serving as an example; acting or speaking for others.
"Teamwork"
Work done by multiple players; each doing a full part, but all conforming to the efficiency of the team as a whole.
