NHFFL Shows Well at New England Championships
On November 29th, 2009, NHFFL League Champions competed in the New England Championships at the Lynn Manning Bowl in Lynn, MA. The 9-11 Patriots took home the 9-11 title with the 6-8 Falcons and 12-15 Patriots taking home runner-ups in their divisions.
6-8 Division
We were allowed to send our Conference Champions in the 6-8 Division. The stage was set for a very competitive division with 6 of the 8 teams in the tournament going undefeated in their respective leagues. The Falcons and Seahawks went undefeated in pool play but they would eventually meet in the semi-final for a rematch of this year's NHFFL Superbowl. The game would go to overtime with the Falcons pulling it out 18-12. The Falcons battled hard in the Championship but came up short losing to the Lynn Raiders 12-6.

NHFFL Red Storm make it to Finals in Regional
On 10/31 the NHFFL sent (4) 9-11 teams to compete in the NY Jets NFL Regional held in Florham Park, NJ at the Jets training facilities. 28 teams competed in 7 pools of 4 teams for chance to move on and play for a National Championship in Miami, FL in January.
POOL PLAY - Each team plays their pool and the winner of each pool moves on to single elimination. The Demons went 1-2 losing one game in overtime and another in the last minute. The Thunder and Hurricanes both went 0-3 losing some really tight games.
The Red Storm dominated their pool going 3-0 while scoring 85 points and surrendering 0. Their efforts paid off awarding them the #1 seed and a bye to the semi-finals. The kids won their semi-final game against their friendly foes of the NSFFL 20-6 in a hard fought game. They would face Ft Wayne IN in the final. They beat us in FL last year at the Nationals so it would be our chance at revenge. The Red Storm scored first but failed on the conversion and at the half we led 6-0. The team played very well throughout the game but left Ft Wayne hanging around and with a minute left in the game they scored and added the conversion to beat us 7-6.
Although we came up 1 miunte short it was a great day of playing football for all our teams in a magnificent facility. A lot of kids got some great tournament experience and I look forward to seeing our kids compete each fall.
This years NY Jets Regional Winners are: 9-11 coed - Ft Wayne IN 12-14 Girls - North Penn Eagles from PA 12-14 Boys - DAC Panthers from Queens, NY

9-11 Red Storm Take Home Ohio Y2K Title
On August 2nd 2009, the 9-11 Red Storm took the team on the road to Youngstown, Ohio to compete in the Y2K Sports tournament. The team got the opportunity to play some really good teams from Ohio. The Red Storm took their game to the next level going 5-0 and taking home the 9-11 title. Games were longer than the team was used to with each game consisting (2) 24 minute halves. Regardless, the team played nearly flawless with the defense allowing only 1 touchdown in 240 minutes of football while the offense did its job averaging 28 points a game.
In addition to the competitive football, it was a great experience for the team with the kids taking in a Cleveland Indians game, visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and getting a private tour of the Youngstown State football stadium and football facilities.
The Red Storm would like to thank Elliot Giles and the YFFA for their hospitality and for making this trip so special.

NHFFL Wins Flagmag Boston tournament
NHFFL Red Storm took home the Flagmag Boston Tournament title on June 28th with the NHFFL Demons taking home runner-ups. Although only a few teams competed in the 9-11 bracket, it was a good afternoon of football. I look forward to seeing our teams compete in the July 26th Flagmag World Cup NIT in Boston.

6-8 Bills Take Home Runner-Ups at Gillette
It was a great day of football in Foxboro at the 2009 Summer Football Festival. All our teams did very well.
The Bills were the only team that took home some hardware finishing 2nd in the 6-8 Division. The 6-8 Colts and Patriots also did very well with the Colts finishing 3rd and Patriots finishing 6th. Our teams ended up playing each other in the playoffs and knocking each other out.
In the 9-11 Division, both the Red Storm and Natural Disasters dominated pool play but faced each other in the quarter finals with the Red Storm coming out on top in one of their usual battles. The Red Storm moved on to the Semi-finals and lost a shootout to Mo Steel from Miami, FL 37-25 and ended up finishing 4th out of 16 teams.
In the 12-14 Division, the Vipers went undefeated in pool play but ran into a tough Peabody team in the semi-finals and ended up finishing 3rd.
Our 15-17 team played tough but didn't have any luck on the football field.

NFL Punt, Pass, Kick Competition
The NHFFL hosted its 2nd Annual NFL Pass Punt Kick competition on Sept. 27th. Participants were measured in distance and accuracy on a pass - a punt - and a kick off. Scores were added up and winners moved on to the Sectionals held in Milford, NH.
This year we had 2 sectional winners. Devon Russell captured the 8-9 Boys Division and for the second straight year Francesca Rozzi captured the 8-9 Girls Division. Both moved on to the Regional which was held at Gillette stadium before the Patriots game. Devon placed 3rd at the Regional and Francesca placed 4th. Both had a great time and received tickets to the Pats game. Congratulations Devon and Francesca !

 | | | NHFFL Colts win 6-8 Division at 2008 Summer Football Festival | |
On June 29th, 2008 6 NHFFL teams competed in three age divisions at the Summer Football Festival held at Gillette Stadium. It was an amazing experience for the kids and parents alike. There was some great regional competition and our teams faired extremely well with the 6-8 Colts taking home the championship and the 6-8 Eagles taking home runner-ups. In Fact, 3 of the final 4 teams in the 6-8 Division were NHFFL teams.
Our teams finished in the Final 4 in both the 9-11 Division and 12-14 Division.
Here are the scores and results for our teams from the tournament:

NHFFL Red Storm Win Bills NFL Regional
The NHFFL Red Storm are from left to right: Scott Razzetti - Joe Zollo - Andrew Duragano - Eric Guinasso - Steven Jackson - Jimmy Tokanel - Joey Porazinski - Michael Marino - Drew Johnson.
The Coaches are: Brian Johnson - Dave Duragano - Steve Jackson
NHFFL 9-11 Red Storm traveled to Buffalo, NY on 10/11 to compete in the Bills NFL Regional Tournament.
There were 11 teams from 5 states and 2 countries that were placed in 3 pools with each of the pool winners advancing to a playoff. The Football Gods smiled on us early by placing us in the odd pool with 3 teams. This meant we had to win 2 games opposed to 3 to win our pool and advance. The kids played nearly flawless beating Orchard Park, NY 28-0 and then the Hamilton, Ontario Jaguars 30-0 to win our pool and advance. It was an amazing display of execution with the entire team contributing in the wins. After pool play, the tie breakers for seeding came down to the 3rd tie breaker (point differential which we had 29 and another team that had 28) and we were named the #1 seed which meant we got the bye to the Championship Game. It also meant we could watch our future opponent in the semi-final game.
It was the NHFFL Red Storm vs the Hamilton Ontario Steelers for the title and a trip to Disney for a shot at a National Title. We scored late in the first half with a laser beam from Drew Johnson between two defenders to Steven Jackson who made a nice catch jumping in front of the defenders. We failed on the conversion and the half time score was 6-0. In the second half, Ontario drove the ball to our 10 yard line but was turned away by an Eric Guinasso interception in the endzone. Ontario would get one more chance and on the last play of the game they hooked up on a touchdown pass to tie the game and force overtime.
In Regional Tournament Play, each team gets one possession and tries to score. If you are unable to score, a mark is made on the field where the drive ended and the opposing team must advance the ball past that mark to win. Ontario went first and drove the ball to about our 15 yard line before we stopped them. It was our turn next and with our first two plays gaining minimal yardage we were facing a 3rd and about 15. Drew Johnson rolled out and checked down and dumped it off to Andrew Duragano who scooted around the corner and picked up the 1st down by about a yard (There were many memorable moments from this tournament but this play will forever be embedded in my memory). We now had three plays to pick up about 10 yards. Drew johnson swung it out again to Andrew Duragano who took the corner and advanced the ball past their mark for the overtime win and a trip to Disney.
It was an amazing experience as well as an emotional roller coaster and although I mention a few names it was truly a team working together as one unit that got it done.
Good Luck to our teams competing in the Patriots NFL Regional in Conneticut on 11/2. How great would it be to have 2 teams from our league in the National Championship !!!!!!

NHFFL competes for National Championship
After winning the NFL Buffalo Regional, the NHFFL 9-11 year old Red Storm competed at Disneys Wide World of Sports for the National Championship.
The football gods smiled on us in Buffalo but placed us in the "Bracket of Death" in the Nationals. There were 12 teams broken into 3 pools. Each team played their pool and was then seeded for a single elimination playoff. We drew Ft Wayne Indianna - last years National Champion Miami, FL Mo Steel who was last years runner-ups and this years National Champions and Oakland, CA who finished in the final 4.
We dropped our 1st game to Fort Wayne 28-0. We came out flat and they were a really good team.
We played really well in the 2nd game losing to Miami 13-0. We trailed most of the game 6-0 and just couldn't put it in. They scored a late touchdown to make it 13 - 0.
In our 3rd game we faced off against Oakland, CA. We played well scoring first and taking a 6-0 lead. Oakland bounced back catching a deflected ball in the back of the endzone and then added another to take a 13-6 lead. We had our chances but it ended up 20-6 with Oakland adding a late TD.
We actually drew the 10 seed as there were other 0-3 teams and ended up with Miami, Fl again. They came out flying and ended up knocking us out 20-0.
Although it didn't work out on the football field, we had a lot of fun. The kids met a lot of the other players from around the country and got to play some exciting football on the National Stage. We also had a great time at Disney !
Look for the National Tournament to air on the NFL Network in December.

NHFFL Captures 9-11 Spring Fling Title
 | | | NHFFL Red Storm 9-11 Spring Fling Champs | |
The NH Sportsplex in Bedford, NH was the site for the 1st Annual Spring Fling Flag Football tournament. The 1 day tournament featured teams from NH and MA competing in (2) coed age groups; 9-11 and 12-14.
The NHFFL Red Storm captured the 9-11 title in dramatic fashion scoring on a deflected ball with under 30 seconds remaining in the contest against the NHFFL Panthers.
In the 12-14 Division, the NHFFL Blaze ran the table in pool play but ended up finishing runner-ups with the Peabody, MA Tanners taking home the title.
It was an exciting day of football played in a beautiful facility and I look for the tournament to grow next year.

NHFFL Wins 2009 Granite Bowl
 | | | | NHFFL Red Storm 2009 Granite Bowl Champs |
On April 18th, NHFFL teams competed in the 2009 Granite Bowl tournament which was held on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University. The tournament featured a Fan Zone for the kids as well as live music and a DJ which acted as a soundtrack while the kids played football. Although it was a very long day, the kids got to play a lot of football on a beautiful field.
All our teams battled hard, but it was the NHFFL Red Storm taking home the Title by beating the NHFFL Patriots with a Drew Johnson to Tom Dimicelli touchdown hookup with :02 seconds remaining on the clock.
