This web site is the home of New Haven Baseball Association and East Allen Koufax, an independent baseball league offering quality and affordable baseball to New Haven and surrounding area youth ages 4-14.
Take Me Out to the Ball Game
The purpose of New Haven Baseball Association is to provide the opportunity and training for area youth to learn the game of baseball through the development of individual skill, fitness, teamwork, and fair play.
Registration for the 2012 Baseball season will take place on Saturday February 18th and February 25th from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Parks Dept Office 1125 Hartzell St in New Haven or mail them to P.O. Box 6 New Haven, IN, 46774. Deadline for Registration in Minors, Majors, and Koufax is February 29. Online Registration will also be available from February 8th thru February 29th for these divisions. Don't forget to include, the $5 Park User Fee, $18 Concession Fee (Prep, Minor, Major and Koufax only), and Fundraiser Fee with payment if you mail in your registration. You may download our 2012 Registration form and fill it out before coming to registration. To download the form go to the "Handouts" link on the left side of this page. Open the form and print it off. Remember to fill out the form completely and bring it with you on signups. If you have any questions about fees or any other topic, check out our Newsletter. Online Registration for the 2012 Summer Season will be avaliable from February 8th thru February 29th. Beginning on February 8th there will be an active link that will take you to our online site. When you register you will also be required to pay the $5 Park User Fee, $18 Concession Fee if you are in Prep, Minor, Major, or Koufax as well as pay for your 3 Mikes Carwash Fundraiser Tickets per player. Check out the Front Page for details on the fundraiser and how you will get your tickets.
IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE REGISTERING YOUR CHILD IN MINOR, MAJOR OR KOUFAX PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ THE SECTION ABOUT TRYOUTS BELOW. IF YOU ARE REGISTERING IN THE PREP DIVISION MAKE NOTE OF THE SECTION BELOW ON PREP EVALUATION DAY.
The deadline to register T-Ball and Prep players ONLINE is March 31st. Please include the registration fee, Park Board user fee of $5 and the Mikes Carwash fee. See the story on the main page about the fundraiser for details. (Note: The carwash tickets can only be sold during the month of March). If you register online and pland to participate (sell tickets) in the fundraiser your tickets will be mailed to you. Remember if you plan to sell tickets, register early so you have time to sell them. Tickets can only be sold during March. After that date you will only be able to buy and use them your self or pay the opt out fee.

Mikes Carwash Fundraising
Each registered player will be required to buy and will receive 3 tickets @ $8 each. ($24.00 total) when they sign up at registration at the Parks office in February. Then during the month of March (only) you may sell them or you can keep them for yourself. If you elect to sell them, you will recoup your entire cost. Either way the league will receive $4 for each ticket. You may elect not to take any tickets (OPT OUT) and just include the $12 per registered child with your payment which NHBA would keep as its share. You will receive more information at sign ups when you get your tickets.
For Online Registration
When registering online you will be asked if you are participating in the fundraiser or (OPT OUT). If you elect to participate, (sell tickets), they will be mailed to you. If you are buying them to sell make sure to register online early so we have time to get them to you. Remember, they can only be sold during March.
NOTE: Prep and Tee-ball registration online will be available through March.
For Mail in Registration Only
Make sure to fill in payment information on the bottom of the form where it says “Office Only”. Enter either 0 or 3 tickets if participating and include payment. Your tickets will be mailed to you. If you are planning to sell the tickets make sure you register early. Remember you can only sell the tickets during March.
This year NHBA will be holding a Prep Evaluation Day at 2:30pm on March 10th at the NHHS gym. This is not a tryout but we will use the evaluation in an attempt to form more evenly competitive teams. ALL players including returning 2011 Prep players must attend. Please have your child bring his/her glove with them. Do not report inside until 2:30 to avoid overcrowding in the gym, as we will be running the older division tryouts
We will be holding tryouts this year again on 2 different dates. All players eligible to move up or are new to the league in the Minor, Major and Koufax divisions must try out to be considered a candidate for a team.
The first and (RECOMMENDED) tryout is Saturday March 10th at the New Haven High School gym. Tryouts start promptly at 1pm for all 3 Divisions. (Please have your player there at 12:30 to check in).
The backup tryout is on Wednesday March 14th at the New Haven Middle School main Gym beginning at 6:00 pm. (Any player that did not tryout on Saturday the 10th must attend this tryout to be considered for a team. We strongly urge you to attend the Saturday tryout).
NHBA will once again have Fredricks Photography shooting team photos. This years team photos will be done on Saturday May 5th. Players will recieve a flyer from their coach updating you on the site of picture day and the times your team will be scheduled once teams are formed in the spring.
Opening Day 2012 is scheduled for Saturday April 28th. As always there will be a parade starting at Park Hill Learning Center and ending at Havenhurst Park. This year all games will be played on our own diamonds. Players should be dropped off at the Middle School parking lot by 7:30 am and walk to the Park Hill lot. Each team will provide a pickup truck and and an adult to ride with the players over to Havenhurst park. The parade starts at 7:45 am. Parents can watch and cheer on their favorite team along Broadway or over at Havenhurst Park. The opening day ceremony will begin once all teams have arrived. This will take place on Diamond #4.
