Head Coach - Frank Vashaw
2010 will be the fifth season for Frank Vashaw as head coach at North Gwinnett. In his first four seasons at the helm, the Bulldogs have posted a record of 83-36 for a winning percentage of .697%. In 2009 the Bulldogs tied for second in Region 7AAAAA, and qualified for the state playoffs for a school record, fourth consecutive year. They defeated Parkview in round one of the GHSA State Playoffs, before falling to the eventual State Champion Pope High Greyhounds in an exciting three game series. In 2008, the Bulldogs posted a 17-11 record and advanced to the state playoffs before losing in round one to North Cobb. In 2007 the Bulldogs won a school record 28 games against six losses, captured their first 7AAAAA Region title, and advanced to the GHSA AAAAA "Elite Eight". In 2006, the Bulldogs were 20-8 and advanced to the state playoffs, losing in round one.
From 2001-2005 Vashaw was at Coffee High in Douglas, GA. In five seasons at Coffee, the Trojans won 96 games and lost 54. They advanced to the state playoffs in each of those five seasons, winning Region 1-AAAAA in 2002 and finishing as the 1-AAAAA runner-up in 2001. The Trojans advanced to the Elite Eight in 2002 and 2005.
His 16 season record is 354-176 for a winning percentage of .668%. Vashaw’s teams have advanced to the post-season in each of his 17 seasons as a head coach, and have reached the GHSA state playoffs in 15 of those seasons. His playoff record is 64-45 for a winning percentage of .587%. 10 of his 17 teams have posted 20+ win seasons. 14 of his 17 teams have won at least 18 games iin a season.
From 1993-2000, Vashaw was the head coach at Cook High in Adel, Georgia where the Hornets captured three region titles, four Final Four appearances, and AA State Runner-Up in 1998, and a AA State Championship in 2000.

Over 50 of Vashaw’s players have advanced to the college ranks and four have been drafted or signed to professional contracts.
Vashaw attended Henderson High School in Dekalb, Co. before lettering for four seasons at Georgia Southern and was a two-year starter as an outfielder. He has also coached at Georgia Southern, Upwey-Ferntree Gully Baseball Club (Head coach) in Melbourne, Australia, Screven County High, and Berrien High.
He has been a featured clinician at the Georgia Dugout Club Coaching Clinic, and has been published in the ABCA. He was the pitching coach on the 2002 Senior Team Georgia. Frank is also an Associate Scout with the Cincinnati Reds. In 2009 he took America's Team to tour Italy and play a series of five baseball games.
Frank is married to the former Carla Gail Matthews of Elberton, GA. They have two daughters Chloe and Leigh Parker.

Assistant Varsity Coach - Chad Longe
Chad Longe will begin his fourth season at North Gwinnett in 2010. Before coming to North, Chad spent two seasons at Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, VA. Prior to Lake Taylor, Coach Longe has been an assistant coach at Loyola University-New Orleans, Virginia Military Institute, the Waynesboro Generals of the Valley League and as a head varsity coach at Rockbridge County High School in Lexington, Virginia. A former pitcher at Virginia Wesleyan College, Coach Longe helped lead the team to back to back conference championships in 1997 and 1998. Coach Longe has worked numerous camps and showcases and has worked as a private instructor in both Virginia and Georgia. Coach Longe will begin his first year as the Bulldogs pitching coach. Coach Longe currently resides in Sugar Hill with his wife Colleen, a Language Arts teacher at North Gwinnett, and his two children, Luis and Juliette.
Assistant Varsity Coach- Jonathan Wyman
Jonathan will begin his fourth season at North this year. He graduated from Chattahoochee HS and Presbyterian College in South Carolina. Jonathan will handle the catchers this season and assist with the pitchers and hitters. Jonathan received the Assistant Coach of the Year Award in 2009 from the Gwinnett Dugout Club. Jonathan teaches in the special education department at North.
Head 9th Grade Coach- Robby Culpepper
Robby will be the Head 9th Grade Coach in '08, after assisting with the JV last season. Robby graduated from North Gwinnett HS and from UGA with a degree in Marketing. He was a pitcher while at NGHS and UGA. Robby also assists with the pitchers on all three teams. Robby teachers Media/Technology at North.
Head Coach JV Coach- Greg Singleton
Greg begins his eighth season as a coach at North Gwinnett. This will be Greg’s first year as the JV head coach. Greg led the 9th Grade to a record of 30-6 over the past two seasons. Greg graduated from North and was a two-sports star playing both baseball and basketball. Greg teaches fifth grade at Suwanee Elementary. After high school Greg went to Reinhardt College where he played basketball for two seasons. Greg earned his degree from Georgia College and State University. In 2005, Greg earned his Masters Degree from Walden University.
