Dear NFOA Members:
The first phase of the W-9's has begun. A W-9 form is enclosed with all Baseball/Softball checks. Please complete the form and mail it to:

It is the goal of the NFOA to have 100% of the forms completed and received by January 15, 2010.
All future check payments will require completed W-9 forms to be on file. Forms can be downloaded from the IRS website, from your sport coordinator, at your first organizational sport meeting for the season, at the Fall Banquet or from me.
Hope your summer went well, and that Fall brings many more assignments.

Center for Sports Parenting
Launched in March of 2001, the Center for Sports Parenting (CSP) is a Web-based initiative that offers immediate and practical guidance to parents, coaches, educators, administrators, officials, and all other individuals involved in youth sports, equipping them with the information needed to handle the psychological and physical challenges faced by young people participating in athletics.
To Parents and Coaches
A father at A Little League game runs onto the field, screams at the ump over a bad call and even chest-bumps the man in blue.
During a youth hockey contest, a mom jeers the refs for whistling calls against her sons team. When another parent tells her to relax, the mother taunts him too.
A soccer dad enraged by the officiating confronts one of the refs after the game, then head-butts the official, knocking him cold.
Stories like these have become so common, many sports parents dont even raise an eyebrow. But they should. How can we parents and youth coaches talk to kids about being good sportstreating referees properly and accepting their decisionswhen were the first ones to go bonkers over a close call?
