                     Travel / Tournament Softball Umpires

The NFOA assigns umpires for over 160 girl’s fast-pitch travel softball teams. These include teams in: the Metro Girls Softball League Inc and the Niagara Frontier Girls Softball Association. The age divisions range from 10 and under to 23 and under/open. Games are played throughout Western New York, mostly in May, June & July. Over 90% of the games use a two-man umpire crew.

The NFOA also provides umpires for more than twenty girl’s fast-pitch tournaments from early May through mid August. There are also a few fall tournaments in September and October. Training for these umpire assignments usually begins in January or February.

                         Recreational Softball Umpires

The NFOA assigns umpires for youth baseball and softball leagues and Adult slow-pitch leagues for the Town of Tonawanda. Slow-pitch uses one man behind the plate while the baseball & softball leagues use one man behind the pitcher. The 16 and under baseball division uses a two-man umpire crew.
Training for these leagues usually begins in late April or early May.
