Posting Scores
AA, AAA, Majors - Coaches and Managers:

The winning team coach of each game is responsible for posting the score of the game on-line, however either coach may enter the results. The standings will update automatically. It's simple to do and will take you only a few minutes. Please check the site once a week to make sure that your game scores have all been entered and that your team's record is correct and up to date. Please go to the My Site News for more information on posting game scores.

AA, AAA & Major League Coaches and Managers: 

Please take a moment and register at our site.  By registering you will be able to post you game scores online and do your part to keep the standings up to date and accurate.  In order for the site to be successful it is essential for all managers and coaches join.  The registration process is free, easy and will take just a few minutes of your time.  Please click on the "board" section in the left margin and you'll be on your way.  If you get stuck, refer to the helpful hints below.  Once the season begins, the winning team coach of each game is responsible for posting the score of the game online, however either coach may enter the results.  The standings will update automatically.  It's simple to do and will take you only a few minutes.  Please check the site once a week to make sure that your game scores have all been entered and that your team's record is correct and up to date.  When entering a game score, if you cannot remember the specific score of the game, enter your best guess.  The important thing is to record the proper winner and loser for the game.  We do not have a call in system as in years past so this is the only way we can keep the standings straight.

We need 100% participation - the standings are useless unless everyone posts the scores.

If you coached in NELL last spring or last Fall and successfully registered at our site, it is not necessary to re-register for this year.  

Below are some helpful hints on registering and posting game results:

Please follow these instructions to Create a New Account on the NELL web site:

If you are not registered as a eteamz.com user, go to www.newtoneastll.org/board (or click on "board" in the left margin of the site) and click on "Don't have an eteamz account? No problem. Click Here for your pass to the eteamz community"

After you first register for an eteamz account at the NELL site you should be directed to ask for permission to join the NELL site.  After which point, I will be able to grant you admin. rights, enabling you to post scores.  If for some reason you did not get to this last step in the registration process, please follow the steps below to ask for permission to join the site.  You should receive your admin rights within 24 hours.

Please follow these instructions to Update an Existing Account on the NELL web site with permissions to post game scores:

1. If you have already created a eteamz.com user name and a password, go to www.newtoneastll.org/board (or click on "board" in the left margin of the site).  If not please first create an eteamz account including a eteamz user name and password using the above procedure.
2. Click "click here to login with your eteamz account"
3. Fill in your username and password and click on "login"
4. In the comment field, list your league, team name, team manager (if you are not the manager), and reason for requesting access (e.g. "Need to post scores").
5. Check off all boxes that apply, i.e.. "coach, parent"
6. Click on "send request"
7. A new page should appear confirming that you message has been sent to me.
8. You may log off now by clicking on "logout" in the top right corner.
9. You will receive a confirmation back typically within 24 hours that your access has been approved.  If you do not receive confirmation, please send email to webmaster@newtoneastll.org.

Please follow these instructions to update scores on the NELL web site:

Updating Game Scores:
1) Go to www.newtoneastll.org
2) Click on "Admin" in upper right (above the red line) of the screen 
3) Enter your user name and password and click "login" 
4) Click on "Schedules" in the left margin
5) Click on "scores"
6) Click on your league, i.e. "AA, AAA or the Majors"
7) Find the Game that you want to update and click on the corresponding "pencil icon"
8) Fill in the score as you best remember. If you do not recall the game score at all, you may simple put a score of 1 to 0 to indicate the winner and loser of the contest.
9) Click on "update"
10) Click on "log out" in the top left margin and this will take you out of admin. mode and send you back to our home page.  You can now check the schedule and standings to see up the up to date information.

2009 Fall Registration Now Closed

On-line registration for the 2009 Fall baseball season is now closed

Player registrations received after August 10, 2009 will be subjected to a late fee and players will be put on a waiting list.  In order to keep roster sizes reasonable, players will be assigned to teams on a space available only basis.

Rosters have been finalized and you should have been notified of team placement by now.  If you haven't received your team placement, please contact Newton East Little League Fall Commissioner, Bob Krantz

Schedules are being finalized.  The season will begin September 8 with most teams playing a weeknight game one of the evenings that week.



2009 Williamsport Tournament Team Eliminated

Congratulations to Newton Central.  In addition to winning the last 2 City Series, Central won the District 10 tournament for the first time in 46 years.  Good luck as you head into the Sectionals on the way to Williamsport!

The NELL Williamsport Tournament team has been eliminated after losing their first 2 games to Parkway National (8-3) and Newton South (11-1).  Thanks to Greg Wallace and the rest of the coaching staff as well as all the players who gave it their best.

2009 Spring Registration is Closed

On-line registration for All 2009 Spring League baseball seasons are now closedThere are still limited openings for T-Ball and AAA players who can apply via the paper registration process.

Paper registrations are available for all leagues (including leagues where on-line registration has closed).  To obtain a paper registration, please email info@newtoneastll.org.

Team Pictures Sunday May 3

Sportography will be taking team pictures on Sunday, May 3. The team pictures will be done BEFORE the start of your game at the same field that your game is scheduled for (look for the designated picture taking area at the field).  All players must be at the fields by your teams' scheduled picture time (see below schedule).  Players should be in their uniform and have their glove and hat.  Coaches will be in the picture as well.  Individual photos will be taken before team photos.  The photographers will take every team picture regardless of the number of players. 

Everyone will receive a free Memory Mate (team photo plus individual photo).  Each player should have their completed order form (even if you are not ordering any additional pictures).  Do not check off the free Memory Mate on the order form.  Only check off what you want above and beyond the free photo set with the appropriate payment enclosed with the order.  Order forms should have been provided by your team manager.  Additional forms will be available at the field.

Note: The AA Raptors have a bye on May 3rd. You will still need to report to the field in uniform as a team at your designated photo day time shown below

2009 City Series Friday May 22 through Sunday May 24 Cabot Field

Newton's Annual City Series will be held this coming weekend (Friday, May 22 - Sunday, May 24). As the winner of last year's Majors Division, Newton Central will be the host league. 

The Newton East representatives are the Red Sox (Majors) and Red Wings (Minors). 

The Red Sox play on Saturday, May 23 at 12:00pm.  If they win, they play the championship game on Sunday, May 24 at 3:30pm. 

The Red Wings play on Saturday, May 23 at 2:15pm.  If they win, they play the championship game on Sunday, May 24 at 1:00pm.

All games will be at Cabot field (except for the South vs. West minor league game on Friday night at Lyons field).  Click on fields for directions to Cabot and Lyons fields.

AA and AAA Playoffs - Spring 2009

The Playoff format for both AA and AAA consists of a single elimination tournament with all teams participating. Teams will be seeded according to the number of points earned during the regular season, 2 points for a win 1 point for a tie. In the event of identical numbers, head-to-head competition will be used as the first tie-breaker, a coin-flip will be second. The home team will be determined by seed. All regular season game rules and pitching rules apply. Below is the schedule for the AA and AAA Playoffs.

June 17 All League Picnic Featuring Major League All Star Game, Raffle Drawing, and Awards

Newton East Little League Picnic for Major, AAA, AA, Farm, and T-Ball Leagues 
This year, NELL would like everyone to celebrate another successful Spring season of baseball by attending a league-wide (T-Ball, Farm, AA, AAA, and Majors) picnic at Jay Gordon Field (50 Homer St) on Wednesday, June 17 from 4:30-7:30.  This final team event of the season will feature a DJ playing music and other fun give aways.  In addition, the raffle drawing, league awards, and Major League all star game and skills competition will all be held.

Each team will have a designated area to gather and hold their picnic.  Teams should coordinate their own dinner.  Teams are encouraged to sit together but their will also be plenty of mingling.  Attendees should bring their own food, drinks, chairs, blankets, etc. 

A food stand (not affiliated with NELL) will be setup if you prefer to purchase a hot dog, etc.

Please note that additional parking is available at Mason-Rice school (149 Pleasant St).  Be careful not to park illegally on Homer Street or any of the surrounding streets as cars have been ticketed and/or towed in the past.

All Star Game, Skills Competition, Awards and Raffle
The NELL Spring season concludes on Wednesday, June 17 with the Major League Skills Competition and All Star Game. The Skills competition will begin at 4:30 PM sharp followed by the game at approximately 5:45 PM. All star and graduate trophies will be distributed.  In addition, the Zisi and Schwartz award winners will be announced and the raffle drawing will be conducted.

2009 Summer Registration Now Open

On-line registration for the 2009 Summer baseball season is now open

There are 3 programs: (1) NELL Summer baseball league consisting of 10-12 year olds (and skill eligible 9 year olds) from all Newton Little Leagues; (2) 11 and under SYBL travel team for Newton East players only; and (3) 12 and under SYBL travel team for Newton East players only.  The travel teams will be selected based on evaluations.

In addition, Newton West Little League runs a program for 7-9 year olds featuring both Coach Pitch and Kid Pitch divisions.
