Junior League is an extension of Little League to provide a continuing activity within the framework of Newton Little League. The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys and girls ages 13-15, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. The playing rules for Junior League Baseball are substantially the same as conventional rules of baseball (some local rules may apply). Games are seven innings, and pitchers are permitted to pitch more innings per game/week than in the Little League (Majors) Division.
A Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 13-14-year-olds will be selected from within this division. The Tournament team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Junior League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe.
