Welcome to the 2012 season!

Hello Wildcats Families!

As the new President and on behalf of the new Executive Board I would like to welcome all of you to the 2012 Football and Cheerleading Season!!!!!!!

It may seem like the season is far away but the Board has been keeping busy.  This month we have discussed the Head and Assistant Coach application process, the winter Cheer program, upcoming camps and registration dates, a fundraising kickoff and a few other things described below.

·         Available Board Positions: We have 2 Executive Board positions available; Registrar and Volunteer Coordinator.  Both of these positions are essential.  It is very important that we have them filled as quickly as possible.  We also have 4 Advisory Board positions available; Sports Communications Coordinator, Scholastic Coordinator, Equipment/Field Coordinator and Webmaster.  If you are willing to take on the responsibility of one of these positions please send me your contact information  @ edwardtampa1@aol.com.  These  volunteer positions are a wonderful way to give back to your community and they do come with a few perks like the stylish Board Shirt and the spiffy laminated badge! :)

NOTE:  If you wish to volunteer in any official capacity; Board Member, Coach, Weigh Master or Team-Parent you must fill out and submit the Pop Warner Volunteer Application for a background check and complete the appropriate training.  The application is available on our "FORMS" page.  Please make sure you provide a copy of a driver license or other government issued ID with the application.  To volunteer at Concessions, Gate, Cat-Shack etc...  A background check is NOT required.

·         Winter Cheer: Winter Cheer registration for girls ages 8 to 15 is in progress.  Next registration is  Sunday 01/22 from 3:30 – 5:30 at the Wildcats Field.  For additional info contact Sherae Floyd @  newtampawildcatscheer@yahoo.com

·         Head Coach Application: The Coaching application is available for printing on the web site.  Click on the FORMS Tab on the left side of the web page and down load the 2012 Coach Application form.

Football Head Coach applications  must be submitted to Football Commissioner Danny Biglow via email  CoachBiglow@hotmail.com or dropped off at his store "Party Fever" on BBD by February 17th 2012.

Cheerleading Head Coach Applications must be submitted to Cheer Coordinator Sherae Floyd via email @ newtampawildcatscheer@yahoo.com  by April 17th 2012.

We need these applications by the specified dates because all Head Coaches have to go through the Executive Board Approval Process.

·         Assistant Coach Application: The same application is used to apply for the Assistant Coach position.  These applications are to be submitted to Danny and Sherae as well. The deadline to submit the Football Asst. Coach Application is March 31, 2012.  Background checks are required.

·         Football and Cheer Registration Dates: This year we expect much higher numbers of participants then we had in the last 2 – 3 years.  Please register early to guarantee your spot on the roster.  If you are interested in helping out at the registration event please send me an email with your contact info.  Our first Registration for the 2012 season will be held Saturday March 3rd  from  11:00 to 1:00 at the Wildcats Field.

·         Wildcats Community Football Camps. This year we are planning to offer 3 pre-season Football camps.  The dates for the camps will be announced once we work out all the details with County and FYD/Pop Warner Administration.

·         Facilities cleanup and Janitorial Contracts: We are looking for a person or a company to provide clean up and janitorial services for our facilities during regular and off season.  These are paid contracts.  We need a bid for the off season contract ASAP to support winter Cheer activities.  If you are interested in the details please email me at edwardtampa1@aol.com and I will provide additional information.

·         We will be returning volunteer and equipment deposit checks Tuesday 01/24 between 6:00 – 7:30 at the shed.  More dates will be announced later.  If you don’t want to make the trip and would prefer to have your checks shredded, send your request via email to edwardtampa1@aol.com

As a reminder, I would encourage each of us this year to take pride in our Football and Cheer programs.  If volunteer opportunities arise, please help out.  The success of our volunteer based youth sports program is dependent upon parental involvement.

This is the first of many communications. We will utilize the web site more and more as the season approaches, so please visit the site often as subject matter may change daily.

BE A VOLUNTEER THIS SEASON!!!   GO WILDCATS!!!!

Best Regards,

Eddie Khatskelevich
