CAMP ALUMNI
Rising Star Baseball Camp has helped numerous athletes learn
baseball fundamentals leading up to a successful high school/
college baseball career. In addition, the camp has helped
various athletes develop outside of the world of baseball.
Listed below are camp alumni and some of their baseball/
athletic accomplishments from their post-camp careers:

PAUL BRUZZESE
Paul Bruzzese was a camper during summers 1999-2001.
Paul went on to play four years of varsity baseball at
New Rochelle HS where he was selected as an All-American
in his senior season. Paul continues his career at Rockland
Community College. (Pictured below at NRHS in 2002)
CLAUDE BALLIET
Claude Balliet was a camper during summers 1999-2001.
Claude was an outstanding catcher at NRHS and continues
to play baseball at Westchester Community College.
Claude came back to work at the camp as a coach in 2005.
GEOFF McDERMOTT
* Camper in summers 2000-2001
* Attends Providence College on basketball scholarship
* Led 2005 NRHS football & basketball teams to NY State title games

TOMMY KOEHLER
Tommy Koehler was a camper during summers 1999-2000.
As a three year starter at New Rochelle HS, he set school
records with an ERA of 0.83 and 108 strikeouts in 2004.
His fastball is clocked consistently in the low/mid-90's.
Tommy received a full scholarship to Stonybrook University.
MARK SCHLECKER
*Attended camp in summer of 2000
*Won NY State Doubles Tennis Championship (2005)
*Attends University of Pennsylvania
ERIC FAMA
Eric Fama was a camper during summers 1999-2000.
As a starting centerfielder at New Rochelle HS
Eric attained a 10-1 career record as a pitcher.
As a senior he was voted All-Section HM by the coaches
association. Eric continues his athletic career at
Rhode Island College.
ROB GOVERNALE
Rob Governale attended camp in 1999. Later, he starred
at Iona Prep for two years as RBI leader and firstbaseman.
ADAM MATOS
Adam Matos was a camper during 1999-2000. As a three year
starter at New Rochelle HS, Adam earned All-League recognition
and won the prestigious Diamond Nine Award as senior in 2004.
Adam attends Ivy League College - University of Pennsylvania.
JASON MATOS
Jason Matos was a camper during 1999-2000. As a three year starter
at New Rochelle HS, Jason earned the Diamond Nine HM Award as senior
in 2004. Jason attends Ivy League College - Columbia University.
BRIAN CARDONE
Brian Cardone was a camper during 1999-2000. As a third baseman
at NRHS, Brian batted .380 with 21 RBIs in 2004. Voted All-League HM,
Brian attends the University of Massachusetts.
MATT LaPADULA
Matt LaPadula was a camper during 1999-2000. As a senior at NRHS
he batted .313 with a .455 On Base Pct. in 2004. Matt won
the Diamond Nine HM Award in county. Matt attends Temple University.
Camp History
The camp began in July, 1999 and has grown tremendously. Enrollment, camp staff, and general interest have increased every month. Campers travel from a variety of areas, including Long Island, Queens, the Bronx, Yonkers, Larchmont, Scarsdale, and mostly New Rochelle to attend.
