New Oxford Jr. American Legion Baseball: Welcome

As we enter our last week of indoor practice, I want to thank all of the players who attended these practices. Everyone has worked very hard and I promise it will make a difference when we move outside starting this weekend.
We will let everyone know as soon as we can what time practice will be on Saturday. If we can go in the morning, that is what we will do.

I would like to also thank those who have handed in Sponsorship money. All your hard work is greatly appreciated, but more needs to be done. We have received over $600 in sponsorship so far, from 2 players. We need everyone to get involved and collect those sponsorship dollars. Our largest expenses for the year are yet to come. League fees, umpire fees and equipment costs will exceed well over $2000 dollars. So your help is greatly needed.
We have also applied to the Internal Revenue Service to be classfied as a charitable organization. We should have approval for this sometime during the summer. What this means is that all charitable contributions made through the sponsorship program will be tax deductible for the 2006 tax year. Make sure to let potential sponsors know about this opportunity.

We also want to send our Junior Legion team to a Junior Legion tournament over the Memorial Day Weekend in Reading. The tournament will go Saturday and Sunday will the winners of each pool playing on Monday for the tournament championship. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the program can pay to have the players stay at a hotel for the weekend. If enough money is raised, we can do that. If not, parents will have to pay to allow their sons to spend the weekend. The other option is to drive back and forth each day.
More details on this tournament will be forthcoming as soon as it becomes available.
