New Jersey Cup: Welcome

The New Jersey Cup 2010, presented by US Club Soccer, is open to US Club Soccer member clubs and teams in New Jersey. U10-11-12-13-14-15-16-17-18/19 boys' and girls' teams.

The format is one-loss elimination. New for 2010: Consolation brackets for teams that lose their first-round games! All teams are guaranteed a minimum of two games in the New Jersey Cup -- advancing in the winners' group or playing in the consolation bracket.

New for 2010: U10 boys' and girls' teams will be allowed to enter and participate in the New Jersey Cup. One U10 group for boys' teams and one U10 group for girls' teams. The application fee for U10 teams is $100.

All teams participating must hold and present US Club Soccer player passes and a roster at all New Jersey Cup games. Teams that currently do not belong to US Club Soccer may join US Club Soccer as an individual team. No USYS/NJYS passes/rosters will be accepted.

Preliminary-round matches will start being played in March 2010, depending on the number of teams in an age group. Preliminary-round games may be played during the week or on the weekend.

The home team in a preliminary-round match at a club field will be responsible for getting referees from a USSF-approved assignor; the two opponents split paying the referees. A three-referee system is requested.

A Super Group and Premier Group for U11-12-13-14 brackets is offered. The Super Group is the most-competitive, or top, group offered.

The semifinals and finals for U14, U15, U16 and U17 boys' and girls' teams, and U18/19 boys, will be Saturday, May 15, 2010. The semifinals and finals for U11, U12 and U13 boys' and girls' brackets will be Sunday, May 16, 2010. The semifinals and finals for the U10 boys' and girls' groups will be either May 15 or May 16, 2010.

US Club Soccer Player Passes

All teams participating in the New Jersey Cup will need to have valid US Club Soccer passes for all players and coaches at all games.

Players May Only Play for One Team

Players may only play for one team participating in the New Jersey Cup. Players may not play for different teams in different age groups, or different clubs, even if their team gets eliminated.

Application Fees

The entry fee for the 2010 New Jersey Cup for U11-and-older is $165 per team. 2010 will be the fifth year that the application fee has remained the same.

The application fee for U10's is $100/team.

Any player or coach who receives a red card in a New Jersey Cup match is suspended for the next New Jersey Cup ...

Games

U17-U16-U15 will play 80-minute matches: 2 x 40

U14-U13-U12-U11 will play 70-minute matches: 2 x 35

Overtime: if a game is tied after regulation play, the two teams will then play two, 5-minute periods of sudden-death/golden-goal overtime. If the teams remain tied after overtime, the match will go to FIFA penalty kicks.



One-Loss Elimination

Preliminary-round games will be played at club fields, leading up to the finals and semifinals.



No Refunds

Once a team is accepted, there are no entry-fee refunds.
