NO PRACTICE SUNDAY 1/3/10
There will be no practice today (Sunday, 1/3/10) due to the weather. We will meet again Thursday @ 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
Team Practices
Starting Sunday (January 3rd), we will begin our "Team" Practices. We will meet every Sunday (@9:30 AM - 11:00 AM) & Thursday (@5:30 PM - 7:00 PM). While we would like each player to attend both practices each week, a minimum of one practice per week is mandatory. If you can not make a team practice, you are still allowed to use DB's Facility (if space is available), or can attend another Firebird Practice.
Next Payment Installment - Date Set
For planning purposes, please note that the 2nd $500 installment will be due by January 20th. Please make the check payable to "Joe Sapienza", and note in the memo line "Firebirds 10U Red".
Raffle Tickets / Fundraising
Each player must sell a Minimum of 3 $10 Raffle Tickets. These need to be sold and returned back to Coach Jim or Joe. Any additional tickets sold by the players helps towards reducing the cost to play on the team.We are also looking for ideas and anyone willing to run some additional Fundraisers for the team. All money raised can be used for Team Functions (Additional Tournaments, Lunches/Dinners while away at Tournaments, etc.). Please let Coach Jim or Joe know if you have any ideas, or if you are interested in running a fundraiser.
2010 Baseball Heaven Spring Classic - Tournament
The team has been registered for the Baseball Heaven Tournament scheduled for April 16 thru the 18th in Yaphank, NY (Long Island). The website of the tournament can be found at : www.baseballheavenli.com
Hotel Reminder
Please remember to "Book" your Hotel Reservations ASAP if you plan on staying they weekend. I believe that we only have ~5 families booked. If you have planned other reservations outside of this Hotel that is fine. If you decide that you still want to stay at the Marriott (NY), please contact Diane Zatyk @ (631-232-3000) Islandia Marriott (NY) for reservations (form in the email sent by Coach Joe Sapienza). This form needs to be returned to the hotel no later than Sunday, March 21, 2010.
