Camp is just around the corner!! We will be leaving bright and early Tuesday morning, July 28th. Remember, EVERYONE will caravan down that morning. We will stop for a late breakfast between Gainesville and Orlando. We still need parent drivers there and back. Drivers/parents will be asked to leave after the girls are settled in their dorms on Tuesday. You may return that evening (time to be announced) to watch the pom competition. All parents will be asked to leave after the pom competition and should not return until Friday morning. Parents/family that want to watch the camp champs and evaluations on Friday should plan on arriving by 9 a.m. Parents that are only providing transportation should arrive between 11:30 and noon. These are estimated times based on past years. More definite times will be given when we get closer to camp.
All parents/adults that will be driving to or from camp, or that will be driving to any cheer function during the 2009-2010 school year, must complete a request to transpot form if they will be carrying any cheerleaders other than their own child. Forms can be picked up from me. You must turn in a legible copy of your driver's license and current insurance card with the form.
Lots of items have been and will be distributed to the girls between now and camp. Please make sure all items are secured. I cannot order new ones before camp. A checklist will be distributed before camp.
Practices are very important (and mandatory). We cannot be ready for camp if we do not have the proper practices. While I recognize family vacations and church commitments are important, please understand there needs to be a commitment to the team. We have not had one practice this summer where every team member has been present.
Financial obligations are also important. We have to pay UCA over $10,000, in advance, for the two squads to attend camp. We cannot pay this if every squad member does not maintain the payment schedule as identified in the contract signed by all parents and squad members.
