New Albany Little League PROJECT TEAMBUILDING has taken another big step towards a new home. The Floyd County Commissioners and the Floyd County Parks Department have voted to pass a resolution to help the development of the Charlestown Road site for a new park and Little League complex. This location has been the number one priority for Little League for approximately six years, though Little League's search for a permanent home has been ongoing for over thirty years. We are very excited to have secured such a large tract of land near our current home and to have our first partner in this process.
Over the past nine months Little League has met with numerous community members while we have worked to take this from concept to reality. This 30+ acre park will include our new ballpark home and help complete a community green space that is needed in the area. Although the specific plans are still in the development stage here are a few details of our concept:
- In addition to six baseball fields, and room for four softball fields the concept includes a walking path, playground area, and open space for activities.
- The park space will help satisfy the 2008 joint City-County master plan for park land and secures park space for an area that was labeled as "the most glaring parkland deficit" in the city or county.
- The new facility is ideally located in the Little League district, near where our current facility that has been in use for more than 40 years, and is easily accessible via I-265 from any area of the LL district.
- We have had the location and concept reviewed by professional engineers, planners, environmental specialists, DNR and an architect. All have indicated that this is an excellent location for a little league facility.
- The site will not only enhance the quality of life for the community, but we hope will provide an opportunity for economic development to bring other teams and families to New Albany and Floyd County.
- Drawing is conceptual only. Final plans are being developed.
- The softball wagon wheel is a potential future expansion but shows the space that will be a park in Phase 1.
- We are planning a league Question and Answer February 23. Time and location will be sent soon.
- Reminder: check nallb.com for updates
NALL is very excited to have the first of many partners join our project. We continue to work with other entities, both public and private, to complete the community's vision for a first class park. We will be updating our website often to provide additional details as they develop.
Let's play ball!

Family Fun Day is a big part of our annual fundraising. It is also the day that the pictures for all the leagues will be taken, so attendance is very important.
We will have food, music, and inflatables, etc. Fun for everyone! It is important for the success of Family Fun Day that we have a large turnout. Please plan to attend, have your player’s pictures taken and stay to enjoy all the fun. We will also draw our raffle winners on that day!
Also, this event is open to the public, so invite your family and friends to attend.
Please check the Handout Page for the picture schedule and the worker schedule.
