HOW TO BE ASSIGNED TO TENNIS TOURNAMENTS:

After you have attended the appropriate training courses and have been certified as a Provisional Umpire, you will want to begin making contact with the people in charge of assigning umpires to tournaments.  To obtain more information about working all types of tournaments in your section, you should contact your Sectional Chairman and/or District Chairman of Officials.  This person will be able to provide you with all the information you need about events in your area as well as contact information for the people in charge of assigning umpires to these tournaments. To obtain more information about working non-professional tournaments outside of your section, you should contact your Sectional Chairman of Officials.  This person will be able to provide you with the contact information for the people in charge of assigning umpires to these tournaments. To obtain more information about working professional level tournaments, you should refer to the umpire web page at www.usta.com.  Under the heading marked “Professional Tennis Information” you will be able to find information on how to apply to work USTA Pro Circuit tournaments as well as ATP/WTA tournaments.  You can always contact your Sectional Chairman of Officials as well as the USTA Director of Officials for information on these events.
