NE Blue vs. A Cut Above

2-3 (L)

NE Blue vs. Primetime Elite

2-1 (W)

NE Blue vs. Lady Hawks

12-3 (W)

NE 14u Blue played the first game versus A Cut Above. Hannah Hickman provided some offense with a solo homerun to left field but was not enough to overcome the infield errors, losing the game 3-2. The team would like to thank Mia Parker (12u Gold) once again as she provided some pitching assistance.

The second game was against a depleted Primetime Elite team that only had eight players due to injuries, but this provided an opportunity for extra work on defense for a few of the NE 14u Blue players. Hannah Hickman, Sammie Rivas, and Elise Oliande filled in and took turns playing outfield for the opposing team, and Elise Oliande even caught a hard hit bard against one of her teammates!

The team saved their best offensive game for last when they beat Ladyhawks 12 – 3. The girls exhibited great hitting accompanied by great base running. Great day of softball by the girls as they prepare for the Mother’s Day Classic Tournament, hosted by So Cal Athletics.

The theme for this weekend was Pitching and Catching with timely defense. Kamryn set the tone in her debut return to the "Circle". She gave up no runs and consistently kept batters off balance as she showed little to no rust from being seven weeks on the DL. Kamryn's performance was followed by Emily, a new pitcher we just added she too was terrific as she fancied a change up that made batters just look silly.
In the second game it was more of the same Mia started the team off by just overpowering batters as her screwball and curve was hitting their spot time and time again. Kiana stepped in, following Mia's performance and continued to kept batters off balanced as she featured her "slow, slower, and slowest" approach.
In the last game of the Day Kiarra C.P. gave the team two strong innings as she struck out four batters in her second appearance of the year. Amanda followed with a pretty strong performance herself.
The defense was super solid all around as the team only missed one assignment and had three error's on the day. There was great plays made by Kayla at short, Emily in the outfield (throwing out a runner at second base). Also there was a great play at home as the team performed a perfect relay.
We did not have a tremendous amount of offense but Stacey did a terrific job getting on base and creating havoc and Kayla Rivas had what I like to think a breakout performance as she hit a triple and a double  and consistently hit the ball hard all day.
The highlight of the day was Kayla Edwards hitting a three run home run to left center field in the first game which proved to be the difference of that game. As well as Mia hitting a solo home run to straight away center in game two.

12u Blue Hosts Friendlies at Apollo Park

 NE Blue vs. SoCal Heartbreakers

3-4 (L)

 NE Blue vs. Revolution

7-0 (W)

NE Blue vs. NE Gold

 4-1 (W)

The 12U Blue team came up with the following goals for this friendly:

 Better Communication
Reduce the errors
Hit the ball the hard
Pitchers: reduce walks
The team fell short of their goals in the first game.
In the second game Lani, Emilie, Bri and AC doubled and Mia hit a triple.  There was only one error and one walk.  Communication improved.

In the last game, the team really put it together.  The 3 pitchers gave up only one walk, and there were no errors.  Bri and Emily had doubles.

Communication is improving, but it is agreed more work needs to be done in this area.
