14u Blue

14u Blue participated in the TCS March Mayhem tournament this past weekend.

NE Blue vs. Misfits

8-1 (W)

NE Blue vs. Rage Express Spring Team

2-3 (L)

NE Blue vs. SD Rebels

14-2 (W)

Blue vs. Cen Cal Grizzlies

1-7 (L)

The weekend looked promising as the girls came out strong in their first pool play against Misfits. Jocelynn pitched a great game and Destiny came in to close out the game. Offensive play of the game was Celeste… who hit a 2 run HR deep to Left field!! *Congrats Celeste!!!

Our second pool game against Rage Express Spring team was good game. The Offense got on the board first with a 2 run lead early. Jocelynn held the team to no runs for 4 innins. Destiny came in to close it out as she has done all season. But this was not her day. Rage got 3 runs across in the bottom half of the last inning and ended up losing 2-3.. NE was ahead the entire game until the last inning.

The third pool game was against SD Rebels and the girls came back after the loss strong. 6 Runs in the first inning, 3 in the 2nd inning, and 5 in the 3rd inning. Erin goes 3 for 3 this game!

The combined pitching of Destiny and Jocelynn only gave up 6 runs all day while Nemesis scored 23. The defense and offense work together all day, this is why the girls did so well in pool play.

Most of the girls seemed not to show up for the bracket game against Cen Cal Grizzlies. 5 hits the entire game. The mental side of the game was lacking Sunday. Nemesis scored the first run of the game but that is all the girls could get the entire game. The focus was not there for some of the girls. The girls could not get it together.

12u Blue

12 u Blue played a Double Header against Irvine Sting Saturday evening at Indy.

NE Blue vs. Irvine Sting (L) 18 - 2
NE Blue vs. Irvine Sting (L) 11 - 3
This would the first game without 5 players. Four of our players were asked to participate in PGF and one player could not make it. We had had two of our Gold team players lending us a much needed hand. Unfortunately there were way too many errors made in both games. The team only had 4 hits in the 1st game and 7hits in the 2nd game.

Highlight: In the first game Brianna smashed the ball out to left field for a Homerun.
SUNDAY  - Blue played in a “No Fear” Friendly in West Covina.

NE Blue vs. Synergy (W) 4 – 2
NE Blue vs. Team AB (L) 3 - 1
NE Blue vs. SoCal Heartbreakers (L) 5 - 4

First game of the day started off with 3 great at bats. Haylee and Lani hit singles while Emilie hit a nice line drive down the third base line for a triple. Then at bottom of the 4th inning, Emilie kept her hitting streak going by hitting a double. She then helped herself scoring our fourth run on a pass ball. Defense played extremely well only one error was made in the game.AC pitched the entire game and did well, striking out 1 batter. Lani put in work behind the base throwing 2 runners out trying to steal third. Second game of the day and things started out slowly. At the bottom of the 2nd inning the score was at 0-0. Errors unfortunately cost us 2 runs in the 3rd inning. Our hitting fell flat in this game only 3 hits total, 2 singles by AC and Lani and an RBI by Emilie. Daisy pitched this game and did great striking out 4 and not allowing runners on base. By the third game things got better we had a total of 8 hits. AC got things started by smashing the ball between left and center field for a Homerun. AC then hit a triple in the 4th inning. Emilie pitched this game and did well striking out 2 batters.
Player(s) of the week: Brianna and AC. Both had 2 Homeruns this weekend, way to go girls!
Next for the 12u Blue: The Team is off this weekend and able to enjoy Easter weekend with their families.
