Hey Wildcat fans, one of our own has been selected for the 2008 NAFL All Star team.  Shane Cronican was selected to represent the Wildcats in the game that will be played in Atlanta GA. during the Championship weekend.  For more information about the game and the Championship weekend click on the NAFL logo and go to the leagues website.

Well Wildcat fans, in what was an exciting game your Nebraska Wildcats were defeated by the Iowa Lightning by a score of 33-13.  The Cats played hard but were showing the rust from the 1month lay off between their last game and this one.  Aaron Cronican struggled with his passes during the first half and the offense sputtered and seemed confused.  The Wildcats did jump out to a 6-0 lead in the first Qtr. on a pass from Cronican to Gorny that set up a short run into the endzone by Matt Lucid. 

The second half was much better for the Cats as the offense shook off the rust and started to move the ball on the Lightning.  But penalties and what most people viewed as bad calls kept the Cats from mounting a come back.

Asked about the game G/M E. Mace Jr. said " We didn't play for a month due to our schedule and it showed on the field.  We started looking like the team we know we are during the second half but it was a case of too little to late.  We want to thank the Lightning staff for putting on what was by far the best away game we have been to so far this season. We wish them luck in the play offs and would love to see a team from the Midwest win the National title!"

The season is over, equipment is turned in and will be made ready for next season.  Hand shakes and good byes were made and the promise of next year looms on the horizon.  We want to thank all the people who came out and supported the Wildcats this season and want to let everyone know to keep checking back to this website for updates on not only what the Your Nebraska Wildcats are doing but where they will be for the 2009 season.
