| I wanted to send a quick note in response to the N.C. Wrestling 50 Years "celebration." I had the privilege of wrestling under Walt Tolarchyk and Ed Glass from 1989-1993. While the coaching was absolutely top notch, the success of our teams was also based upon the fact that we were a tight-nit group. With the talent of such excpetional wrestlers such as my brother, Ken Lacure, John Marchette, Todd Keiner, etc., we were fortunate enough to have great success.
Also, we were lucky to have the guidance of such greats as Dan Willaman and Brian Dolph who often would come back and show new techniques they learned in college.
I cannot point to any one moment or memory that sitcks out, but having the opportunity to compete for such a great school and with the best of people captures it all. Winning a couple of state titles was pretty cool too! :-)
I wish the North Canton wrestlers all the best and look forward to Hoover being restored to it's former wrestling glory!!!
Sincerely,
Bill Lacure
