THE RESIDENTIAL CAMP (for ages 9-18)
This dynamic camp for girls ages 9 and older is tailored to challenge the player in every aspect of her game. Our training environment is designed to develop individual skills in an atmosphere that promotes creativity, intensity and fun. The technical and tactical aspects of each position will be closely analyzed in staff/camper demonstrations which cover a number of offensive and defensive topics throughout the camp. In this training environment, players are trained according to their skill level so as to challenge them with attainable goals. Players will quickly be able to develop and test their skills in competitive evening matches. Our goal is to instill skills and techniques that players can take back home and be able to improve their play through individual practice. We want to help each camper develop into a more versatile player who can play at the highest level. The training is taken directly from the pages of the Wolfpack soccer program and takes place in a first-class learning environment. Those trying out for school teams or going to college will greatly benefit from Coach Kerrigan's direct involvement in all aspects of the school. Players who prefer not to stay overnight, but wish to enjoy the benefits of this intense program may register as a Commuter.
About the Goalkeeper Camp Within the Residential Camp
The Girls Soccer Camp at NC STATE does not forget about the special demands placed on a goalkeeper. This camp within a camp is taught by award-winning goalkeepers and will be offered during both sessions. The goalkeepers will receive separate training, but will participate in the evening matches and other game-like activities, with the rest of camp. The goalkeeper camp will emphasize teaching the technical and tactical aspects of the position including distribution, communication, diving, one-on-one saves, deflecting, positioning, and punching the ball. In the evenings, the goalkeepers will be closely evaluated in matches and activities.
THE EVENING CAMP (for ages 5-12)
This camp is designed for younger players who wish to learn and improve their soccer skills in a fun, activity-based environment. Our staff consists of highly qualified coaches who can demonstrate and teach each skill fully, as well as age-appropriate tactics and fundamentals of team play.
