Little League's position on composite bats will remain the same as it was in 2011 -- if the barrel of the bat is composed of more than 1 piece of metal, the bat must be included on a list of bats tested and approved by Williamsport in order to be used.  What's different this year is the penalty.  Any player bringing an unauthorized composite bat into the batters box will be called out.  A team's second offense will result in a coach being ejected, and a third offense will be ejection of the manager.
.
Junior League bat rules have changed substantually.  If you are using a composite bat, it must be BBCOR.  Which means it must have no more than a -3 drop.  The tamper-indication portion of the BBCOR spec has been dropped as the technology hasn't gotten there yet.  You can till use non-composite bats of any drop in Junior ball.  Or LL bats (2 1/4" barrel) from the approved composite list.  Remember, the maximum barrel diameter is 2 5/8".
There is a link in the upper right corner of this page that goes to Little League's bat site.
