2012 Registration

We're down to our last two registrations at Las Palmas Park for the 2012 Summer Season. They'll take place on the next two Sundays at the following times:

Registration Information

League Age: The League Age for all players will be their actual age on January 1 of the current year. Players new to the League, must present a certified Birth Certificate before being assigned to a team. See league age chart below.

Divisions:

Mini Division - 6 to 8 years old
Minor Division - 9 to 11 years old

Major Division - 12 to 14 years old
Senior Division - 15 to 18 years old

NOTE: Players may try out for selection to an older age Division. However selection is at the sole discretion of coaches of that division and the League cannot guarantee that a player will be allowed to play up.

EXCEPTION: Players who played on an upper Division team last season may remain with that team without attending assessments. For instance, an 11 year old who played on a Major team last season may return to that team without attending assessments. League Insurance does not allow players to play in a lower age Division. 

Fees: Registration fees are $80 per player. Fees include ASA registration and insurance, team jersey, trophy and team picture package.

All registration fees must be paid in full or arrangements for payment made before players may participate in any league activities, including team practices. Fees are non-refundableonce a player has been selected to a team unless the player is seriously injured in a NCGSL game or practice.

Sister Discount: The first player pays full fee. There is a $10 discount for a second sister. And a $5 discount for each additional sister. This discount applies to sisters only.

Important Note: Any player who played in our League during the 2011 season who wishes to return to the same team this season must register by the end of player assessments on Sunday, June 3.

Division Reorganization

National City Girls Softball League has plans in place to reorganize its age divisions. Under the plan, the current system of three 4-year age divisions would be replaced with four 3-year division. This change will allow all of our players to compete with players closer to their own ages.

The new divisions will be Minis (6-8 years), Minors (9-11 years), Majors (12- 14 years) and Seniors (15-18 years).

As in the past, we will allow players to tryout for assignment to an upper age division. And players who played in an upper division last season but would now be in a lower division, will have the option of remaining in the upper division if they so choose. For instance, an 11 year old who played on a Major Division team last year, would have the option of remaining in the Major Division or playing in the Minor Division.
