MIKE ALFINEZ RECORDED HIS 7TH STRAIGHT WIN AS HE KEPT THE LEONES TO JUST 2 RUNS, ONLY 1 BEING EARNED. HE HAS BEEN THE WORKHORSE FOR THE NATS THIS SEASON AS HE CONTINUES TO DOMINATE THE OPPOSITION IN THE NABA.

KEY HITS BY EDDIE LOPEZ, TYLER WAMPLER AND JOE RODGERS GAVE THE NATS THE LEAD FOR GOOD. LOPEZ SINGLED IN WAMPLER TO TIE THE GAME AND AFTER A MONTEAGUDO SINGLE, RODGERS FOLLOWED UP WITH A 2 RUN DOUBLE TO GIVE THE NATS THE LEAD FOR GOOD.

CHRIS PEREZ ALSO CONTRIBUTED WITH A SINGLE AND A DOUBLE, ALONG WITH KEVIN CHERNOFF AND AUSTIN SOUTHER WHO BOTH SINGLED.

THE NATIONALS (8-1) WIDENED THEIR LEAD ATOP THE DIVISION BY 3 GAMES OVER THE SUGAR KINGS,LEONES,COLT 45'S AND MARLINS WHO ARE IN A FOUR WAY TIE AT 5-3.
