Washing Uniforms---UPDATED WITH NEW DANCE DRESS

Follow these instructions in washing the different uniform pieces:

New Dance Dress

DO NOT WASH!  I WILL COLLECT THESE ON MONDAY, AUGUST 27TH AT PICTURES!  NO ONE IS TO WASH THESE.....I NEED TO SET THE COLOR IN A SALT SOLUTION BEFORE WASHING....

Green/White Rhinestone Leotard
Hand wash using cold water.  Add a small amount of mild soap, such as Dreft (do NOT use Woolite).  Wash garments separately at all times.  Remove garment promptly.  Do not soak or leave unattended during the washing process.  Rinse thoroughly in cold water.  Do not wring, rub, or agitate.  Blot excess water from garment.  Lay flat to dry.

Black Pants (goes with green/white leotard)
1.  Before washing the new garment, set the fabric colors of the garment to prevent bleeding and to retain the brilliant colors.  Do this by filling a washbasin with cold water and 1/2 a cup of salt.  Allow garment to sit for 2-3 minutes.  Do not soak or leave unattended.  Remove immediately.  Rinse.  Hang to dry.  This step must be done prior to washing.  Failure to set color may result in colors bleeding or discoloration of fabric.
2.  Then, hand wash using cold water.
***Follow #2 in future washes, once you have set the color.

Shiny, looser pants
hand wash using cold water.

For all of these uniforms, and the sequin top, please see the following care instructions:
**This garment is made of a specialty fabric That will show wear or become dull over time.  To retain the brilliance of the fabric, wash only when necessary and wear only during performances.  The fabric you have chosen is subject to snagging, flaking, and finishes may dull over time.
**DO NOT DRY CLEAN THIS GARMENT!  Dry cleaning will damage foil, hologram, and adhesive-applied (rhinestones) finishes.
**Rhinestones or nailheads have been applied to this garment using a heat-setting process.  Prolonged or repeated exposure to high temperatures during washing or drying will damage the glue bond, resulting in the loss of rhinestones.  Dry cleaning solvents may also weaken the glue.

I will also update this site with washing recommendations for the sequin top and shell/skirts.

Pants Need To Be Hemmed!
Please make sure that your daughter's pants are hemmed to an appropriate length.  Make your daughter put on her performance slippers, and other shoes, and adjust it to be at a length that is long enough to cover her shoes, but short enough to just be above the floor...maybe about a quarter-inch off of the floor.  You need to put both shoes on because otherwise you will make them too high if you just use the slippers as a measurement.  If in doubt, just make sure to hem the pants so the pants aren't dragging on the floor, and the girls are not tripping over them.
Pants need to be hemmed by performance time. The reason we ask for these to be hemmed is because we will receive points off in competitions when the pants are too long and drag on the floor.
