Congratulations goes out to Tom Degnan, the “Voice of the Renegades”, who was the recipient of the 2009 NEFL Service Award.  This award goes out to those who help improve and advance the league going above and beyond what is expected.  It is well deserved for all his years of service in promoting his team and league.  This past season Tom created and operated the popular website with real time score updates from across the entire league.  Tom has also been the PA announcer for the Renegades for many years along with generating website graphics and press releases.  Congratulations from all your Renegade Family Tom!

The Renegades 10th season and playoff hopes ended Saturday night in Connecticut.  The shorthanded Gades were not able to keep pace with the number one playoff seed and 2009 championship runner-up Bearcats.  Although the rebuilding season was disappointment in terms of wins and losses, the Gades can take pride in how they fought through the season in Renegade fashion and earning a playoff spot.  The Renegades have definitely found a tough group of players to build on for 2011.

The Renegades would like to thank all the players, coaches and fans for all your help and support in 2010 and over the past 10 Renegade seasons.  Special thanks goes to our PA announcer Tom Degnan, the Hardy family film crew, Matt Dumican and the chain gang, Marie Cowles and the Medway School Administration and all those that helped out along the way.

Keep checking back to the site for announcements of all-stars, awards and the banquet.

In an unfortunate situation for all involved the New England Hawks were not able to gather enough players to field a team last week in Amesbury, MA.  As a result, the Renegades received a 6-0 forfeit win.  With the Hawks being 0-3 in 2010 this will not affect any teams standings.  The Renegades family wishes the best of luck to the Hawks Organization in the future.

Official team practice will begin Wednesday night May 5th.  Practice will start promptly at 7:00pm at the Wrentham American Legion practice field.  Directions can be found on the LOCATIONS page.  Practice will continue on Wednesday and Thursday throughout the preseason.  All new unregistered players should arrive 30 minutes early.  Only cleats are required at this time and those with helmets should bring them.  Contact one of the coaches with any questions.

The Renegades proudly welcome back Mike Bartucca to the coaching staff.  Coach Bartucca will fill the position of offensive coordinator for 2010.  Mike was part of the original coaching staff with the Rhinos/Gades staff from 2000-2002.  He went on to coach the Foxboro High School football team after leaving the Gades in 2002 and will continue both this season.
