In everyone there is a need to succeed and experience accomplishment. It is achieved through hard work and dedication to your goals. Winning can be achieved at all levels as long as achievable goals are set and success is assured. It is my job as a coach to identify individual athletes and guide them through the process of setting and reaching these goals. Self-confidence is gained and an experience that may guide them through adulthood.

naplesnews.comYouth: Naples Track Club finishes 7th in national club competitionMonday, August 9, 2004 Members of the Naples Track Club closed out their summer season in style at the Junior Olympics National Club Championships on July 9, as the boys sub-midget team captured seventh place overall out of over 30 teams with just five competitors. The meet was held at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, and although no team scores were officially posted, Naples coach Rob Leatherbury was able to determine where the boys would have finished based on individual performances. The team was unable to run the final event, the 4x100-meter relay, because of an injury. "There is no doubt in my mind that if they had been able to run, they would have placed among the top three in the nation," Leatherbury said. "It was the first national meet for all the kids and they did an outstanding job in all of their events." Shain Leatherbury had the highest individual finish, placing second in the 80-meter hurdles with a time of 15.90 seconds after running the fastest time in the preliminaries (15.75).
