Antelope Valley Volleyball Club Nai'a: 5-8 graders

Welcome Little Sisters!!
Welcome 5-8 graders!  We are so happy to have you with us this year.  For some of you this is your first time playing volleyball and for others, you're returning and hoping to make your school teams next year.  Either way, this link will have information that is specific to 5-8 graders.  If you are going into high school next year, check out our FROSH link too.  Have a great year!  Learn, have fun, make friends, grow to love the game the way we do!

5-7th graders

Get to work developing good classroom and home study habits. Learn to manage your time. You likely only practice 2x a week so be COMMITTED

Try to stay after with the coach to learn new skills or perfect basics.  Ask questions of your coaches to learn the “why’s” as well as the “how’s”.

Work on having good technique.  It will save you trouble as you get older

8th graders
CONTACT the varsity coach of the high school you will be going to.  Most of them have summer ball you should join!

Prepare for the high school environment. Develop good classroom and home study habits. Learn to manage your time. Missing practice to do homework shows you probably procrastinated.  Get homework done early so you can be at practice with your team.

Work hard on the junior high school team. Try to stay after with the coach to learn new skills or perfect basics.   Serve overhand, talk loudly, be aggressive, show commitment.

Play spring/summer club volleyball that is available to you.
