| Why a Harrington Hockey Tournament ? |
WE ARE HOCKEY PARENTS TO!! Our staff is comprised of hockey dads, and coaches that spend most of the winter months volunteering their time to coach, and teach young players the value of the game. We bring the teams we coach to many out of town tournaments, and consequently understand the importance of providing a well organized, fun-filled tournament event at a reasonable cost. We charge $700US for Minor, and Major Mite/Novice teams, $795US for Minor Squirt/Atom up to Major Bantam teams, $895US for Minor and Major Midget teams, and with NO GATE FEES we provide some of the lowest cost events in the North East.
But it's not just about our cost that keeps teams coming back year after year. The real value comes for the exceptional tournament that we provide to every player, parent, and coach that walks through our rink doors. As coaches, we travel all over the NorthEast, and Canada with our teams, and have a first-hand knowledge of how our local teams compare in competition. Combined with our superior screening process, teams get "real value" by competing in balanced divisions, where the games run on time, and are officiated by the most experience referees in the Western NY Area.

When comparing us to other tournaments, here are some questions you should ask?
Question:
Besides running tournaments, what is your involvement in youth hockey?
Our Answer:
Our entire tournament staff volunteers 100's of hours per year coaching, and teaching young children the game of hockey.
Question:
Do you have adequate staff, and is there a tournament director present at all times?
Our Answer:
Aside from having at least 2 tournament directors present at all times, we maintain a large staff to help parents, managers, and coaches with questions, or concerns that they may raise throughout the event. CLICK HERE FOR STAFF BIO'S
Question:
What can we expect as far as game results, and how will our team compare to the competition? Here is where it gets confusion because every tournament will tell you what you want hear. So it is up to you to dig a little deeper and go beyond the canned answer that you are probable going to receive. It's been my experience that asking other teams in your organization, league, etc.. is the best way to find good tournaments.
Our Answer:
Call Bob Harrington who can walk you through the details of our screening process, and provide you with some references upon your request. Or ask other teams about the Gene Harrington Invitational Tournaments, I am confident that they will give us a favorable review.
Question:
How organized are your tournament? Do they run on time? Can you guarantee a schedule well in advance?
Our Answer:
We do our best to keep things running smoothly throughout the weekend. In fact, we use a few extra hours of ice each day to provide buffers in our schedule to offset game delays due to injuries, and games that go into overtimes. We also guarantee that a game schedule will be distributed 3-4 weeks before the tournament start date.
Question:
Is medical attention readily available?
Our Answer:
Yes, an ambulatory service is on call at all times. Their EMT's can assist injured players on-site, or provide transportation to the local hospital which is within a 3 to 5 minute car ride from our facilities.
So if your tired of the same old hockey tournament, or have been burned by hockey tournaments that promise the world, but never seem to deliver, then consider the Gene Harrington Invitational Tournaments for your team's next big travel event. We deliver organized events, that run on-time, provide evenly match play, with great officiating, at a fraction or the cost of those other tournaments. Why is this important? We view each event as an opportunity to build on our reputation, so while other tournaments spend a significant amount of your money on advertising to attract new teams, we pride ourselves on a solid reputation that keeps teams coming back year after year allowing us to use your money for improvements rather than trying to attract new teams.
Sincerely, Your Tournament Staff |
| But don't take our word for it, just listen to our past participants!!! |
Cleveland Suburban
Hockey
League |
"The Harrington Tournaments have really taken the time to understand the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League's difficult RPI System. We have a system that is different than the NY or Canadian rating system. In other tournaments, at times we are matched up to teams that are much more experienced and from a higher division. In the past 3 years, we have been perfectly matched, and have had the ultimate ice experience when we won the tournament last year in 6 overtimes. The program is so well run from arrival to departure, as a managers point of view, it makes my job so much easier we all look forward to it every year" |

"The Team has just returned from the Tournament and I just wanted to take a moment to express our appreciation to you and to the many who assist you in putting on this wonderful event. The organization from the accommodation, to the scheduling, to the presentation of the facilities was first class. Everyone we encountered was consistently cordial and helpful. With their activities both at the Tournament and in Niagara Falls, I believe we have made a memory for these 11 year olds that endure long after their playing days." |
