Committee & Board Job Descriptions
APPAREL: Prior to season, place a pre-season Boathouse Jacket order. Put together an array of NA Lacrosse apparel and miscellaneous items to be presented for orders once the teams (MS&HS) are selected. Design a Team T-shirt to be given to every MS & HS player ($ comes from dues).
BANQUET: Work with Board/Coach to establish a date. Book a banquet hall and plan menu. Coordinate agenda with Board President. Prepare and send invitations to families and dignitaries. Decorate.
CONCESSION (Co-Chaired): get parents signed up to work shifts at the games; stock the food, drink and paper products and maintain that stock; arrive early to open the building and get the hot foods prepared; stay until all cleanup is done and the building is locked; get startup cash from treasurer and return the funds at the end of the season. This position works well with co-chairs.
CLINIC: Duties are, but not limited to, the following:
Ø Establish date and location of clinic
Ø Secure permission and reservation for facility from North Allegheny Athletic Office-(Bob Bozzuto)
Ø Determine who will be doing the instruction and hire upon board approval
Ø Establish budget and determine giveaways and cost to participants
Ø Market the event by announcements, brochure, web site, presentations, signage, newspaper, etc
Ø Design registration form and determine point person for questions, etc.
Ø Maintain data base of registrants and payment receipt.
Ø Coordinate Clinic Specifics with NAI and the Middle Schools.
Ø Determine and secure food / snacks for event
Ø Determine and secure equipment for the event as necessary (goggles, sticks, etc)
Ø Obtain volunteers for assistance in set-up, check-in, tear-down, etc.
FUNDRAISING: Spearhead and organize fundraising opportunities for the team
LEAGUES & TOURNAMENTS(out of season): New Position Watch for local tournaments for our team to enter (RMU Colonial Classic in the fall). Encourage NA girls to register for 3RL Fall League (sign-ups through 3RL). 3RL Pre-Season League -Register an NA Varsity & JV Team (if possible), get coaches for each team, register players.
REP/TREASURER FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL: New Position Work out budget and collect dues. Be a liaison between the MS Coach and Board and between Board and MS Parents.
SENIOR NIGHT: Plan the evening ceremony, collect bios and pictures of seniors, order flowers for Seniors and their parents, order cake for the team. Photograph players and parents. Order balloon arch from UBO.
WEBSITE: learn to edit and add info on the eteamz website. Work from your house!!!
PHOTO: Schedule and organize team photo day. Maintain display case in athletic hallway. Coordinate photography needs of the team.
UBO Rep: UBO (Unified Boosters Organization) is made up of one representative for each NA sport. Attend 5 meetings per school year at the Baierl Center for approximately 2 hours each. Major functions for Girls LAX are to give a report to all members on the status of Girls LAX at the May meeting, and distribute applications for scholarships for seniors. The UBO rep chooses two seniors to be considered for the scholarships. It is also the UBO rep's responsibility to donate an item for the Kennywood raffle (Paid for from the Girls LAX budget). The UBO rep forwards information on the banquet date so the Athletic Dept can distribute Scholar Athlete Awards. Being a UBO rep is interesting-you learn a lot about the other sports and things like their fundraising, tryouts, etc, It is a great way to become involved with a minimal amount of time!
PRESIDENT elected for a one year term. The president shall preside at all meetings of the NAGLA and shall discharge the usual duties of the presiding officers. The president shall act as a liaison with the coaches, athletic director, and other booster organizations and the community.
VICE-PRESIDENT(S) elected for a one year term. The vice-president(s) shall actively participate with NAGLA and shall preside when the president is absent. The vice-president shall chair the nominating committee.
TREASURER elected for a one year term. The treasurer will collect all monies, pay bills, and prepare and submit financial statements. The treasurer shall prepare a budget prior to the start of the season and an end of the year financial report. At the end of each year, the treasurer will have two non-board parents audit the books.
SECRETARY elected for a one year term. The secretary shall handle correspondences, reserve meeting locations, give notice of all meetings, and maintain files for the NAGLA. The secretary will take notes of the monthly meetings to be typed and submitted to Board Members
REGISTRAR elected for a one year term. The registrar will collect members dues, prepare a roster of players and parents, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. Maintain accurate data in the Yahoo account
