The A's would never relinquish the lead, and Dan Tharp cleaned up the last three innings for a 7-1 A's victory. Congratulations to the A's players and all teams in the league for a great season.

For two consecutive hard-fought series against the Fairfax Astros and the DC Metro Dragons, the A's pulled it out and repeated as the NABA DC-Wood Summer league Champions! Kudos to the A's, Astros and Dragons, for great seasons all around. During the LCS against the Dragons, Tommy Bell hammered his 14th homer of the year, and George Omeir repeatedly came up big at the plate. Mike Barkett rode a hot streak, legging out several timely singles and a clutch double, and Nick Anderson had a key RBI double in each game. Dave Lohrman, Matt Begley, and Tommy Bell each got wins within the final two series, with Lohrman impressively securing two complete game wins within a 3-day span. Omeir was steely in relief, locking up both LCS saves in pressure situations. Congratulations A's!
