Uniforms

This year the uniforms will all be the 2 piece uniforms wore by all girls last year.  The cost of the uniforms  is $45.00.  If you have a 2 piece uniform from last year, you may use that.  UNLESS you are on Alabama.  If you are on Alabama you need to order a new uniform.

Eligibility

Participants need to be 5 by September 30th, 2012 through 6th grade. Participants without having a sibling on a team will be placed onto the closest roster of team need to where they live.  Families will be allowed to cheer for the MYFA team where their brother plays. Request to be on specific teams will be reviewed but not guaranteed. (without a sibling playing football)  With over 200 participants it is tough to honor requests. Teams will be cut off at a certain number and anyone without siblings will be placed on the next closest team to their house.
Please note that this year the MYFA (football) has limited their participants to children from Mentor schools.

After I register are there any other fees I should be aware of?
You will be responsible for selling 7 tickets based on the pick 3 lottery at $5.00 a piece. Some teams also ask that you participate in fundraising for the banquet at the end of the year. We have structured our fees so that cheerleading can be more affordable to families without compromising safety. As an instructional yet competitive organization we do not condone gala banquet festivities and events. We would prefer that teams promote both MYCA and MYFA league fundraising activities for the benefit all of our families and not just a few.

We registered our daughter in March.  It's the end of July.  When will we be contacted for practice?
You will be contacted sometime after the MYFA rosters are set in Late July Returning participants may be notified earlier if registered.  Please be patient.  If you have email confirmation of your credit card transaction for your registration fee then you will be called as soon as possible.

What are we expected to do during the year?  Do we sell candy?
No, we will not be selling candy this year. You will be responsible for selling 7 tickets based on the pick 3 lottery. There will also be an optional fundraiser to earn spirit wear.  

When and where do the kids practice?
Beginning Late July.  Schedules and times to be determined by each individual team. Units practice at Mentor school fields in accordance with the MYFA team they are affiliated with.
