The Miami Youth Baseball Association was created in order to provide an organization that offers recreational, competitive and instructional league play, and an Academy program with individualized and group instruction for boys and girls between the ages of four (4) and eighteen (18). 

Neighborhood Baseball & Softball: These programs offer City of Miami residents the opportunity to participate in an instructional and recreational program designed to introduce the novice to the game in a fun and interactive setting.

The Academy offers specialized group and indivualized instruction in quarterly sessions: Winter (January-March), Spring (April-June), Summer (July-September), Fall (October-December).

League play consist of three (3) seasons (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Scheduling of teams, fields and umpires are coordinated.

Qualifying teams shall earn berths to the  Summer 2008 World League Baseball Championships
at the beautiful BARCELO BAVARO BEACH RESORT in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Qualifying teams will receive a PAID Berth (Valued @ $595 Paid Team Registration Fee).

MAJORS and AAA Divisions: 3 Game Guarantee
NEW FORMAT: In Divisions with 8 or more teams, all teams shall play pool games and then they will ALL be seeded into a Majors (Top seeds) or AAA (Lower seeds) Championship Round. The same awards for each the Majors and AAA classifications will be presented to the top two teams in each category. This new and exciting format allows all teams to compete for the CHAMPIONSHIP against teams of similar experience!

8U Latinoamericana Blue and 11U Miami Angels win Championships!

The 8U Latinoamericana Blue defeated the Dade Panthers 24-9 to captute the league championship in two straight games in the best-of-three finals.

In the 11U Division the Miami Angels beat the SF Contenders 8-3 in the second game of the best-of-three championship finals to win the 2008 MYBA Spring League title.

Congartulations to all the players, coaches, and parents.

Armando Prieto quiets the Thunder in Championship finals
The 10U Latinoamericana Blue continues its dominance adding the 2008 MYBA Spring League Championship to its list of accomplishments. Latino defeated the Miami Thunder 7-1 and 6-1 in the best of three Championship Series.

12U MAJORS: SF EXTREME wins MYBA Spring League Championship
12U 2008 Spring Champs
Extreme Ace turns Tsunami into just a ripple in game 2
The 12U SF EXtreme won the 2008 MYBA Spring League title by defeating Tsunami in two straight games of the best of three Championship Series. The first game was a Home Run derby with the teams hitting a combined 8 home runs. The Extreme prevailed 9-8. In the second game the extreme scored 3 runs in the top of the first and didn't look back as they cruised to a 13-1 victory.

2008 MYBA SPRING: League and Play-Off Formats

PLAY-OFF GAME SCHEDULES WILL BE POSTED SOON!

COACHES Please submit any CAN NOT PLAY dates prior to Friday, April 25th (Friday, April 11th for the 9U Division). We will try and accommodate all the requests but can not guarantee it. E-mail to www.MYBA2006@Aol.Com

Coaches be ready to play as scheduled.

We will not make-up any games Rained Out after April 21st. Additionally, any games you cancel will be forfeited and they will NOT be Re-Scheduled. If you can not play, you will forfeit the game.

All Teams will be seeded based on the win loss records. If teams do not play the same number of games we will seed based on best winning percentage.

TIE BREAKER: 
If two or more teams are tied you use the head-to-head. If they are still tied we use the run differential in games head to head, then runs allowed in head-to head, then runs scored in head to head games ONLY.  The last tied breaker is coin flip.
The REGULAR SEASON is currently scheduled to conclude by Sunday, April 27th for all divisions except the 9U Divisions which will conclude by Monday, April 14th. We will be playing make-up games through these dates for the respective divisions.
We will start play-offs on Wednesday, April 30th or immediately thereafter. The 9U Division will start play-offs on Thursday, April 17th.

LEAGUE FORMAT: MAJORS 16 GAMES:  Each team plays 3 Round within the Division and 1 round with the 9U Divivsion teams.

PLAY-OFF FORMAT: Quarter Finals #4 Seed vs #5 Seed with winner playing #1 Seed in Semi-Finals.  Other Semi-Final Game is #2 Seed vs #3 Seed.

11U DIVISION

LEAGUE FORMAT: 15 GAMES / 2 Rounds within the Division and 1 Round with 12U AAA Division

PLAY-OFF FORMAT:  Quarter Finals #4 Seed vs #6 Seed and #3 Seed vs #5 Seed. Semi-Finals G1 Winner 4/5 vs #1 Seed  Semi-Finals G2 Winner 3/5 vs #2 Seed.

12U DIVISION

LEAGUE FORMAT: MAJORS 16 GAMES / AAA 14 GAMES : Majors each team plays 3 Rounds within the Division and 1 Round vs 13U Division Teams. AAA each team plays 2 Rounds within the Division and 1 Round vs 11U Division.

MAJORS PLAY-OFF FORMAT: MAJORS Semi-Finals G1 #1 Seed vs #4 Seed  and #2 Seed vs #3 Seed.

Best of Three CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND

AAA PLAY-OFF FORMAT: AAA Quarter Finals #4 Seed vs #5 Seed with winner playing #1 Seed in Semi-Finals.  Other Semi-Final Game is #2 Seed vs #3 Seed.

13U DIVISION 

LEAGUE FORMAT: 19 GAMES / 2 Rounds within the Division then 1 Round vs each of the teams in the 12U Majors and 14U Divisions.

MYBA OFFICIAL TEAM ROSTER FORM
MYBA Official Team Roster Form:

The MYBA Official Team Roster Form MUST being completed with all information completed for each player (Player's Full Name, Date of Birth, Address, Parental/Guardian Authorization Siganature, and School Attended). Additionally, copies of each player's BIRTH CERTIFICATE MUST be attached to the Roster Form.

The COMPLETE package MUST be turned in to the LEAGUE COMMISSIONER prior to the teams first scheduled game.

Players may be added to the Roster prior the teams 4th scheduled league game. A revised MYBA Official Team Roster Form w/ copies of BirthCertificates for each player added MUST be submitted prior to the TEAMS 4TH SCHEDULED LEAGUE GAME inorder for the added player to be elegible.

NOTE: Once a player play in one league game with a team, he or she may not change teams within the same division/age group that season.

MYBA UMPIRE FEES:

All Teams are reminded that they are responsible for paying umpires each game in CASH (No Checks). Whether you are home or away, you MUST pay for one umpire each game. Additionally, you MUST supply game balls for each game.

UMPIRE FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS: CASH ONLY (NO CHECKS)

8U Coach Pitch: $30 (One umpire only, split by each team)

9U, 10U, 11U, & 12U: $35 each umpire

13U & 14U: $40 each umpire

High School Divisions: $45 each umpire

City of Miami Commissioner Angel Gonzalez throws out the first pitch to Inaugurate the NEW Grapeland Park Sports Complex on Saturday, August 18th, 2007        We want to thank Commissioner Gonzalez for giving the youth of our community first class recreational facilities such as those now at Grapeland Park.

OBJECTIVE


The MIAMI YOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION offers professional instruction and league competition under the supervision of highly qualified coaches. Youths four (4) to seventeen (17) years of age are evaluated and placed in groups based on age, physical development, ability and experience. Each student shall receive individualized instruction during group sessions. All games are played under the close supervision of the League Instructor. All students MUST play in every game and shall be able to play different positions. Special Rules are enforced in order to ensure that each child develops and experiences every facet of the game under competitive conditions.




LIMITED ENROLLMENT:
A maximum of thirteen (13) players per team, with
 four (4) teams per age group. MAXIMUM
 fifty-two (52)
players per division.
