Kudos to the Defense!
I recently scanned back through the tournament write ups I've done this spring and noticed that I've been focused on the scoring and the offense with only a little commentary on the defense.   It's just that I've neglected the defense because I've been so excited that the offense has finally learned that the object is not how many "pings" you get or how many times that you bounce it off the keeper, but how many times it goes in the back of the net!

Obviously this is a team game and the success the girls have enjoyed in their tournament runs this spring took great contributions from both offense and the "D".   Here's some numbers to highlight the "D":

Overall Season

18
0.9
Tournaments

0.6

0.6

"Full Line Up" includes the games when everyone was available and playing.   The record in those twelve games was an "Unpredictably Amazing" 12 - 0 - 0. Topping all this was the State Cup run with 1 goal (on a PK no less - damn that ref - oops forgot this is a PG rated site "darn that ref") given up in five games for a per game mark of 0.2.   These numbers are a reflection of the great work by Shellie and Emma in the back, Margaret and Heather on the outside with Chloe rotating in to give them a break.   And last, which is fitting because she's the last line of defense, is Kayla's great play.

Great work ladies; we have a saying where I work "KGDS" … Keep Going - Don't Stop!
