Mockingbird Girls '92: Raleigh Shootout

November 20 through 21, the weekend before the Thanksgiving holiday, the team will be traveling to Raleigh, NC for a return trip to the prestigious Raleigh College Showcase shootout.  The team also played in this tournment as U-15's and U-17's.

The brackets have been published for the upcoming Raleigh Girls Showcase.   We are in "Elite Adipure" and will play

• Triangle FC Navy from the Raleigh-Durham area.
• Vista Shockwave from Chantilly, VA.  Chantilly is a Washington, D.C. suburb.
• Classics Hammer from Cincinnati, Ohio

These are three extremely accomplished teams and will present a great challenge for the girls.

They are currently ranked #1 in North Carolina, #6 in Region III and #25 in the nation by NationalSoccerRanking.com  while Soccer Girls has them at #1 in North Carolina, #5 in Region III and #14 in the nation.   They were the 2008 North Carolina state champion and a semi-finalist from the Region 3 championships this past summer.  They are this year's NC state finalist having lost in the championship match to CASL Elite 1-0.

They are currently ranked #1 in Virginia, #3 in Region I and #12 in the nation by NationalSoccerRanking.com  while Soccer Girls has them at #3in Virginia, #7 in Region I and #20 in the nation.   They are the current (2008) Virginia state champion and a semi-finalist from the Region 1 championships this past summer.

During the U17 season, the girls played to a 0 - 0 tie at CASL but a 0 - 3 loss in the spring 2009 MRL season.   Classics Hammer are currently ranked #4 in Ohio South and #20 in Region II by Soccer Girls.
