2012 Track and Field News:
 
North Coast Section Champions!   Sr Trevor Fuhriman wins the 1600 meters while Soph Chloe Winn takes the 400 meter title. 

May 25th / 26th: North Coast Section - MEET OF CHAMPIONS. 

Day 2 Results - Chloe Winn and Nina Rondoni lead the Monte Vista girls to a 2nd place team finish in the North Coast Section today!  Both qualify as indivuals to the CIF State Meet, with Chloe taking the 400 meter NCS title in 57.07!  Nina is 3rd with a big surge at the finish in 57.74.  Girls 4X100 heads to State with a 3rd place finish - Nicole Alexander and Mackenzie Johnson round out that squad.  The 4X400 is also a close third, again breaking the Monte Vista school record in 3:56.31!  Freshmen Sophia Tomei and Mattingly Gebhart join Chloe and Nina on the record setting squad.

On the boys side, Sr Trevor Fuhriman smashes his own 1600 meter record in taking the NCS title in 4:13.09!  Just a year ago the 40 year old record stood at 4:17. Trevor kicks from 5th to 1st on the last lap!  Sr Kyle Rolleri makes the finals in the Long Jump, finishing his season with another 22' effort.

Day 1 Results - Girls 4X100 breaks their own record, running 48.86 to take the fastest seed into Saturday's final!  Alexander, Winn, Johnson and Rondoni once again get it done in crunch time!  Other qualifiers into the finals include:  Trevor Fuhriman (1600), Chloe Winn and Nina Rondoni (400), Colton Tyler (300H) and the Girls 4X400 relay.

May 25th: Alumni News:  Former Mustang Brett Zorich, running in her senior season for the UNLV Rebels, runs a lifetime best of 2:05.39 in the 800 meters to earn a trip to the NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Championships!  Brett PR's by over 3 seconds from her best time coming into the meet.  Her time yesterday meets the 'Provisional B Standard' to gain acceptance into the US T&F Olympic Trials!  Story from the UNLV T&F site: http://www.unlvrebels.com/sports/w-track/recaps/052612aaa.html

Brett is still the Mustangs 800 meter record holder and previously held three other school records that were only recently taken down (400 meters, 4X100 and 4X400).  GO BRETT!

May 19th:  RESULTS!  It's on to the North Coast Section "Meet of Champions" for a large contingent of Mustangs.  19 MV athletes qualify in 18 different events, which could be the most ever!  Girls 4X400 sets the school record in winning the relay in an amazing 3:57.00 time!  Nina Rondoni, Amy Ingram, Mattingly Gebhart and Chloe Winn put their names on the big board!  Rolleri wins the Triple Jump in 45' 5" - a huge PR in crunch time.  Girls 4X100 also remains unbeaten in the 'post season', turning back 19 other squads.  Soph Chloe Winn and Junior Nina Rondoni dominate the 400 taking 1-2. Huge PR's up and down the roster today.
