2010 16u Sluggerfest Champions!
Last weekend the Magic headed to Cincinnati to the 19th Annual Sluggerfest College Exposure Tournament. We faced a field of 21 strong 16u teams from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania. The girls toughed it out in the 95 degree plus temperatures and came away the UNDEFEATED Sluggerfest champions. The bats were on fire again and the Magic outscored their opponents 68-21.
Great Job Girls!!!

The Magic traveled to Canton, Michigan this weekend for the 20th Annual Compuware Classic Showcase. As always, Compuware provided us with the opportunity to face some of the best in teams in the Midwest and showcase our talents in front of the numerous college coaches in attendance. After winning the Consolation Championship last year in the 14u division, our goal this year, as a primarily younger 16u team, was just to go out and do our best. We wanted to be sure we gave our opponents the quality competition they were looking for. If we did that we would consider the weekend a success. Well we did that and more. We started slow winning only 1 of our 3 pool play games. But once we got in the brackets we really came to together as a team. Our bats were hot, pitching was strong and the defense was nearly flawless. We won our first bracket game against the always tough Michiana Mystique and then went on to win another 3 games in the winner's brackets. Eventually losing Sunday afternoon to the Ohio Classics(last years winner) 4-2 in a great game. We ended the weekend tied for 5th out of 40 16u teams. Not Bad Girls!!!
