Dublin 4th of July Parade- Flat bed TRAILER needed for Marlin float

Again this year, the Marlins will be fish out of water and walking in the Dublin 4th of July parade. We had a great turn out last year and Bill Young has offered to lead us in building an actual float this year. Many, many adult and older Marlin volunteers will be needed to help build this year's float. Look for a future Sign Up Genius to volunteer to help build the float. What we do need now is a flat bed TRAILER so we can begin designing our float. Please let Jodi Rhodes - srhodes6@columbus.rr.com know if you have a flat bed TRAILER that we can use.

Volunteers Needed

Learning how to be a better swimmer and diver is just a small part of summer swim and dive team. We mostly strive to provide a fun, summer experience for our children! We are a parent organized and run operation so we need some help in key volunteer positions.

  • We are looking for a head timer to work at our 3 home swim meets to run a timer watch in case one of the lane timers doesn't work properly. Not a difficult job but does require your attention throughout the meet.
  • We also would like to find 1-2 parents to be our head scorers and learn how to work the meet software. This is a critically needed position since we can't run a meet without having folks who know how to operate the computer. The Scorer does need to be at the meets approximately 1/2 hour before the start of the meet- this is typically around 5 pm since our home meets will begin at 5:30 pm this year. We will be holding a training class in May to teach interested individuals how to operate and navigate through the software. If even slightly interested, please contact Kelley Mitchell at kelley@kelleymitchell.biz.
  • We are also in need of filling social event positions. We need 1 volunteer to help for each event: plan a bowling/pizza party at Sawmill Lanes (We've already reserved the space at Sawmill Lanes. Just need someone to check off kids that attend and bring in a few, simple decorations (balloons, Marlin welcome sign, etc).
  • Still would love to have an 11 & up social coordinator- plan a few 'exclusive' events for our older swimmers/divers. If interested in learning more about these events please respond to this email.
  • A Sign Up Genius will be sent out soon to sign up for volunteer spots during the season's swim meets.
