Friday, March 16 Spring '07 The MudSlingers are playing in MSI Classic Div. I this season in our new Calverton black uniforms. We started out the season in the PWSI Icebreaker on March 24-25. This season the awesome Emily, #10, has joined the team. Welcome Emily! Monday, November 6 Winter '06-'07 After fielding two teams in futsal at the Discovery Sports Center at the SoccerPlex in Germantown, the MudSlingers fielded two teams -- red and white -- for indoor soccer at the Rockville SportsPlex. This winter, the MudSlingers also officially joined the Calverton Soccer Club. That meant new uniforms, and the club placed us on the WAGS waitlist. We will continue to play with MSI Classic until we get there. In the meantime, the team did once-a-week training with Ashly. And several girls did speed training on Sundays at X-Treme Acceleration in Bethesda. Fall '06: The MudSlingers played in MSI Classic Div. 1 in the fall, ending the season with four straight wins -- a powerful finish. Click here for schedules and standings. Joining the team this season were Claire, #19, and Nicole B., #6.
The MudSlingers did their usual summer routine: Evening pickup games, the Takoma Park SoccerFest, McSoccerFest and Futbolito. In addition, they did some Saturday morning training with Riki-Ann, and at the end of summer participated in the August Cup. Spring '06 After starting the season in the Freestate Spring Breakout, the MudSlingers survived a tough schedule in Division I. They also won the MSI Sportsmanship Award for a second season. Winter '05-'06: Futsal Champions The MudSlingers futsal team won the SoccerPlex's Winter 2005-2006 Session I championship for GU 11-12 teams. Congratulations girls! This season also included some indoor training with Karen. Finally, we welcomed Julia, #12, who joined our team for futsal, and decided to stay with the team! Fall '05 In their second season, the MudSlingers were placed in GU-12 Classic Div. II, where they had a great time. Cool pictures from this season can be found here. This season, they also won the MSI Sportsmanship Award. Cameron got to go down on the field at a DC United game! This season roster additions included Kendra, Marissa, Nicole P., Cameron and Sarah C. The twins' dad, aka "Mr. Tony," served as assistant coach. Summer '05: Season of Fun This season included the Takoma Park Soccerfest, the McDonalds McSoccerFest, and MLS Futbolito. Spring '05: The MudSlingers Debut Coach Reilly started the MudSlingers in the beginning of 2005, playing in MSI Classic U-11 Div. I. The original roster had 13 girls from all over the area; only a few of them knew each other when they started, but somehow it "clicked." |
