Player of the Week July 29 - August 5 JASON BRACE
Jason finished off the month of July by going 6-9 and driving in 6 runs in his last two games. Jason, who is the youngest member of the Mudcats has been a great addition to the team and has proven himself not only offensively, but defensively as well. JB regulary plays first base for the Mudcats, but has made several amazing catches in the outfield this season. JB is continuing a tradition of Brace's in the Houston MSBL who have been top performers in the league for many years.
Player of the Week July 21-28 JAY JOHNSON
In the 3 games that the Mudcats played during the week, Jay Johnson went 6-9 and scored 6 runs. Jay's on base average was also raised over 200 points. Jay Pitched all 9 innings in a heart breaking loss to a good Deer Park team and also went 1-1 at the plate, with a sacrifice, a walk and a HBP. Not only is Jay the clean up hitter in the Mudcats lineup, but he is the winningest pitcher in Mudcat history and has accounted for more than 50% of all Mudcat wins.

Player of the Week July 6-13 JOHN ARRIAGA
John Arriaga went 3-4, with a double. He also scored 2 runs, knocked a run in, and stole a base. John also made a great play late in the game at 2nd base.
Player of the Week June 30-July 5: CHRIS COX
Chris Cox earned player of the week honors by pitching 2 innings and striking out 6 in his 2002 return to the Houston Mudcats after a 3 year hiatus. The lefty and former UT standout, still holds the Bellaire High School career record for wins with 34 and was a 1994 inductee into their Hall of Fame. Welcome back Chris.
