A BIG thank you for our League Sponsor.....Land O' Frost!!!
For many years Mt Tabor has been honored and priviledged to have Land O' Frost as a League Sponsor. The assistance our league is provided by this great company helps in supplying the best uniforms and fields for our children! Coupons for Land O' Frost great tasting lunchmeats can be found at our Mt Tabor Snack Shack or follow the link provided for more offers.
Land O’Frost has sponsored over 275,000 children in youthsports leagues across the country since the program began in 2002. Our motivation to grow this program inthe future is fueled by the energy we see in children and their familiesparticipating together in healthy, well-rounded experiences. We would like to make a stronger effortto better communicate and be more closely involved with the leagues, theparents, and the children wearing Land O’Frost jerseys. By inviting the leagues to post a speciallink on their own websites, we hope to build successful directcommunication. The link will takeparents to a special page on the Land O’Frost website that is only accessibleby that link. The information weare requesting includes name, complete mailing address, email address ifavailable, and league name.
Our intent is to offer parents more information about LandO’Frost and our youth sports mission. We will send special savings opportunities along with promotionalannouncements primarily via mail and occasionally via email. The initial mailing will include acoupon for a free package of lunchmeat, followed by cents-off couponsthroughout the year. Special offerswill also include a yearly gift for each child whose parent has signed up forinclusion in this program. Thecommunications will occur at least quarterly and no more than monthly.
Land O’Frost absolutely will not share this information withany other company or party. It issolely for our purpose of building stronger relationships directly with theleagues and parents of the children we support.
The sponsorship of youth sports programs has been a richlyrewarding experience for our company. We are grateful for the continuing opportunity to give back to deservingcommunities and to help keep children involved in positive character-buildingactivities. We believe that at theheart of any worthwhile endeavor, in business and in life, there should begenerosity and good will. Inkeeping with this philosophy, Land O’Frost seeks to deepen our relationshipwith leagues, parents, and children by more frequent and directcommunication. Thankyou for the opportunity to be more involved with the families that participatein youth sports activities with your league and your assistance in this endeavor.

COMMON QUESTIONS........
We often have many questions at the beginning of the season. Here are some of those answers:
When does the season start and end? **Games start in the beginning of April and regular season ends mid-June. We do have a post season for ages 9 and up for Honors and All-Star Tournaments that extend their season (if participating) into July.
What happens after tryouts? When do practices start? **After tryouts we will draft teams in the beginning to middle of March. (Tball and Rookie level ages 5-6 at the end of March) Coaches will call shortly after the drafts to set up practices in March. First games start in April.
What days/times are practices and games? **Practices are set up by the coaches in March but will be adjusted once the season opens as field availability does change when games start. Practices are usually one per week once games start and are usually 5:30 or 6pm start times. When Games begin in April your player will most likely have one practice during the week, one game during the week, and one game on Saturday. Schedules are not set until the end of March so we will not know what days your player will play until after that time. Games start at 6pm with coaches usually wanting the kids there 1/2-1 hour beforehand to warm up (the older kids about 1 hour before, Tball/Rookie 1/2 hour before).
How long are practices/games? **Our younger players (5-6) will usually have about 1 hour practices and games. Age 7-8 are around 1 1/2 hours. Age 9+ are around 2 hours.
Why do you need proofs of residency? **Little League requires that we only register players within our boundaries. In order to prove that you live within our boundaries we are required to receive 3 proofs of your residency within our boundaries. These proofs must contain the parent or child's name and address of your residence and they all must match. The name (if parent) must match at least one of the parent's names on the child's birth certificate. We have over 12 different divisions of proofs and we must receive no more than 1 from 3 different divisions. For example a driver's license, car insurance, and utility bill would be perfect but 3 utility bills would not be adequate. We do keep these PORs on file for future use when your player becomes eligible to play in All-Stars for those affidavits for tournament.
Can I play in a Little League that we don't live within? **Unfortunately no. Little League requires that we only draw players from within our boundaries to keep leagues as fair and localized as possible. All Little Leagues carry Charters and Insurance for the players and only players living within the League's boundaries are insured. It would be irresponsible on a League's part to register a player outside of their boundaries because they would not be covered by insurance in case of an accident. This is for the Little League and your family's protection.
Can I can sign a waiver for the Little League stating my understanding that my child will not be eligible for All-Stars/Honors to allow them to play for you? **There is no such waiver and, again, Little League insurance doesn't cover a child living outside of the league's boundaries so it is best to play in the league in which you reside. If there is a special circumstance please bring it to our attention and we can ask our District Administrator if a special approval can be made.
I hope that these answer most of the common questions. If you have any others please contact Summar @ sumfrogsum@aol.com. Thank You ! :)
