MTSC Magic is a select soccer team from an Eastern suburb of Cincinnati in Milford, Ohio. Magic is coached by former Xavier University Head Coach, Jack Hermans. We play up in the U17 Premier divison of the CUSL and the Elite division of the U16 Buckeye Premier division.

Monday, November 13
Magic Adds New Players and looks for one more
Magic added Alex Elsener and Dane Walters from our MTSC Warriors. We also added Mike Sparks from Mason High and CUP Red. Matt Eltringham has joined the team after playing for Loveland High School.

Monday, November 13
Magic Wins Ohio FC Nike Cup by outscoring opponents 16 - 1
Magic won the Premier Division of the Ohio FC Nike Cup by defeating Team Dayton/Ohio FC White 2 - 0, CUP Red 2 - 0, London City Cobras 7 - 0 and Buffalo United Blues 5 - 1.



Monday, November 13
Finalists at Germantown Invitational Tournament 2005
Magic beat Des Moines Menace, Scott Gallagher and Tenessee Futbol Club in group play and then lost to another Scott Gallagher team in the final 1 - 0.

MAGIC TRYOUTS ANNOUNCED
MTSC MAGIC U15 BOYS SOCCER TRYOUTS

JACK HERMANS, Former Xavier University Head Coach, will coach the first team and he will be assisted by Chris Beerman, former University of Cincinnati player and XU assistant coach, for the second team.


TRYOUT INFORMATION


When?
(Attend as many sessions as you can.)
Wednesday June 1, 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Saturday June 4, 10 am – Noon
Tuesday June 7, 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Where?
Miami Meadows Park – near Milford, Ohio – Take the Milford Parkway exit (exit 59) from I-275. Follow the Parkway (only one direction) to its end. Go straight through the light onto 131. Follow 131 through 3 lights (4 miles) to the park on your left.

How Much?
Fees will be about $375 for the second team and about $575 for the first team. This is about the cost of a one week overnight camp.

Who?
Players born no earlier than 8/1/90 that want to make soccer their top sport in the spring season and play at a high level.

Magic will apply to play in the Buckeye Premier League (Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati teams – 4 or 5 games will be in the Dayton or Columbus area) and the second team will apply for Buckeye Premier or play CUSL Premier with Magic’s current team number. The teams will plan to play in 3 or 4 tournaments each, plus State Cup. One or two will be out of town and the others will be in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Lexington or near those locations.

Why?
You will receive quality training from former college coaches and quality competition at a reasonable price. We want to help prepare players for the next level.

Magic to be coached by Former XU head coach, Jack Hermans - TRYOUTS ANNOUNCED
Magic announces that Jack Hermans, former XU head coach, will take over the coaching duties of Magic for the 2006 season. Jack has been training the boys once a week this season and he will assume the head coaching role for next spring. Tryouts will take place 5/31, 6/4 and 6/6. Weeknight tryouts are 6:30 - 8:30 PM and the Saturday tryout is 10:00 - 12:00. All players are welcome. We will form two teams and the other team will be coached by a professional coach as well (final announcement of the second coach is not official at this time). All 16 player positions are open on both teams. There are 8 Milford players on the current Magic team and only 5 will be allowed to play together next spring.

Finalists at MASC
Magic went 3 - 0 - 0 in group play in the U14 gold division at the MASC Tournament in April. Magic defeated Metro FC Rapids from Dayton 7 - 2, Cincinnati West 3 - 0 and 2004 Illinois State runners-up, Windy City Pride, 2 - 0. Magic suffered with three injuries in the first game that left the team with 2 subs for the remainder of the games and three players attending State ODP tryouts between games. Magic ran out of gas in the final and were defeated 3 - 2 by Windsor FC out of Canada.

Magic gets knocked out of State Cup by Four-time defending State Champion, Ohio FC Mutiny 3 - 2
Magic defeated Kolping in the first round of State Cup with 10 players scoring goals.

We were matched up with Ohio FC Mutiny for our round of 16 game. Mutiny, ranked 18th in the country, were a difficult opponent. Magic played a great second half and came back to score two goals to make the final score 3 - 2. Magic was the only team to score on the Mutiny during State Cup play.


2 - 0 - 1 at NIKE CUP
Magic went 2 - 0 - 1 at the Nike Cup during the first weekend of May. Magic tied Metro FC 1 - 1, defeated Cincinnati Classics 2 - 1 and Thunder FC 2 - 0. We were edged out of the final by Metro FC due to goal differential. Metro FC went on to win the final over Gahanna FC out of Columbus by a score of 1 - 0.

Wednesday, November 24
Magic 5 - 2 - 0 2nd Place in CUSL U14 Premier
Magic earned second place in CUSL Premier Division once again. Magic won 5 and lost 2 to earn 15 points and a second place finish behind the Classics who earned 16 points. Magic was able to defeat rivals FOSC Blitz 1 - 0 and CUSA 2 - 1.

Magic - DOG Days Finalists
Magic went 3 - 1 - 0 in Dog Days U14 Gold division to earn runners up title. Magic outscored opponents Loveland, Ohio Elite, Metro FC 19 - 3. NKUnited defeated Magic 3 - 2 for the championship.

Magic Welcomes Two New Players
We would like to welcome Jake Jones and Dane Wilson to Magic for the spring season. Dane comes to the team after playing for Sycamore Arsenal as their goalkeeper. Jake transfers in from SCSA Vipers. Jake will play some striker and midfield this season. Jake will add some scoring punch and Dane will make the saves as well as add more options at the keeper and defender position.

Magic Winter Play/Training
Magic will train indoor on Wednesdays at Wall2Wall from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. We will also play 7 vs. 7 at Wall2Wall in a U14/U15 league without walls. In February and March MTSC will provide 6 weeks of club training, which will also include 30 minutes of fitness training. The Monday night training will take place at Wall2Wall in Mason.
