The Mountain View LL Board of Directors recently approved a vote to change the league's name to Southwest Ada Little League (SW Ada LL). The board believes that this new title more accurately reflects the geographic composition of our league and our players. It should also help eliminate past confusion that our league was somehow affiliated with Mountain View High School, or that our boundary was somehow related to Mountain View High School's boundary. While we have many players that will or may already attend Mountain View High School, we also have a significant number of players that will or may already attend Borah High School.
What does this mean for you as a participant or parent?
For the most part, everything will stay the same within the league administration, aside from the new name and a new website under design. The geographical boundaries of the league remain the same. The fields will still be in the same locations, with the possible addition of new fields for Prep-Minor baseball and Rookie softball. There will be some new faces helping out for the 2010 season, and with your positive support we expect to build on the successes of past seasons.
One additional change to note is that the Board of Directors structure was modified at the annual elections in September to consist of nine voting executive members. We still need the generous support of many other volunteers as division directors and committee members to make this league a success in 2010. We hope the change to the Board of Directors will permit more parents to get involved without the significant commitment that comes with serving on the Board. This is a great opportunity for anyone who has considered giving back to the community. Just a little time can mean a significant contribution to help many youth when you volunteer.
