Why should I volunteer?

Why Should I Become a Volunteer? Little League Baseball and Softball is an organization designed to build good citizens. It is a program of leadership, preparing today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders. At the local level, Little League relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly. Your local Little League program is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate Little League events and activities. As a volunteer, you should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children. By reading further, you will discover that the benefits of volunteering are endless. You will also gain a better understanding of why you should become involved, who volunteers are, what you can do, and how you can sign up.

2009 Fall Baseball

Mountain View Little League will be putting together teams for fall baseball again this year.  The season starts in late August until mid October.  Games are only played on Saturdays against other little leagues in the valley.  This is open to both boys and girls from the ages of 9 - 14.  This is a great way for kids moving up (prep-minors to minors, minors to majors or majors to juniors) to get experience at the next level in a more relaxed environment before the season starts in the spring.  Cost is $35 and includes a hat and t-shirt.  If you have any questions, please contact Les Layman (idaholaymans@yahoo.com) for more information.

Registration form can be downloaded from the link below.

Lightning Detectors

Please review the handouts for use of the lightning detectors. These are essential and required equipment at each location. At the main complex, the concession stand has a detector. When the stand is open, please verify that the detector has been activated (do not assume someone else from another field has done this). Sometimes the stand is not open during the game- and due to this the league is working to acquire another detector to have in the main shed where the cart is stored.

Codes of Conduct

"Character, Courage, and Loyalty". The cornerstone of the Little League organization. Mountain View Little League is dedicated to emphasizing these values throughout each baseball season.

Coaches, umpires, and parents form a trio of role models from which these young boys and girls learn behaviors that they will carry into adulthood. MVLL has a Code of Conduct for both the coaches and umpires, and we feel it is equally important that the parents also have a Code of Conduct. Cooperation, respect, and maturity among all the adults in the league will encourage those qualities in the players themselves.

We're asking each parent, coach and umpire to please review and adhere to Mtn. View's codes of conduct. It's the least we can do for our kids.
