Mission San Jose Little League: Divisions
Mission San Jose Little League

Select Season:
T-Ball
The T-Ball Division is for boys and girls 5-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In T-Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of T-Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 20 players, but most leagues have rosters in the 12-15 range. No live pitching is permitted in this division. Generally, the diamond used is a 60-foot diamond, but the league has the option to use a 50-foot diamond.

Farm
The Farm Division is the next level up from T-Ball. This level is for boys and girls that are 7-8 years of age. This level is a coach pitch level and are for younger players with less experience. Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 15 players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.

Minor American
The Minor American Division is the first of two divisions in the Minors for boys and girls ages 9-11. Tryouts are scheduled for this level of play (8 yr olds can also tryout for this level). This is a player/coach pitch level where the coach only pitches after four balls have been already pitched from the pitcher. Walks or base on balls are not rewarded at this level. Rosters may be composed of between 12 to 15 players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.

Minor National
The Minor National Division is the second of the two divisions in the Minors. This division is for boys and girls ages 9-11 who are playing at a more experienced level. This is a player pitch "only" level, and the batter can be rewarded a base on balls (walk) on a four ball count from the pitcher. This level participates in post season tournament play.   Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 15 players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.
