The 2007-2008 Street Hockey
Playoff Season is
OVER
The 2007-2008 CHAMPIONS ARE:
Instructional (7-9) - AVALANCHE
Bantam (10-12) - BALL HOGZ
Junior (13-15) - The WILD
Senior (16-19) - SPARTANS
The Playoff season kicked off on Saturday January 26th with the Senior Division.
On Saturday the Chiefs and Cyclones kicked things with the Chiefs winning Game 1 of the Best of 3 series by the final score of 6-2.
The Spartans and Voodoo followed, with the Spartans outlasting the Voodoo 6-4 to take a 1-0 series lead.
On Sunday, The Spartans and Voodoo met in Game 2 of their series, and the Spartans knocked the Voodoo out of the playoffs with a 7-1 victory.
In the late game, the Chiefs overcame a 4-1 Cyclones lead to eliminate the 2006-2007 Champs with a 5-4 win.
The Spartans and Chiefs met in a Best of 3 Championship Series that kicked on Saturday February 2nd with the Spartans taking a 1-0 series lead by winning Game One by a score of 5-1.
Game Two was played on Saturday 2/9 and the SPARTANS claimed the 2007-2008 Senior Division Championship with a thrilling 5-4 victory, to take the series 2-0.
The Instructional Division Finals were next up, with the Avalanche challenging the 2006-2007 Instructional Champion Sharks for the top spot. Game One was Sunday 2/10 at 12:45pm, with the Avalanche jumping to a 1-0 series lead with a 4-2 victory over the Sharks. On Friday 2/15, the AVALANCHE completed their quest with a 4-3 victory to stake claim as the 2007-2008 Instructional Divison Champions.
The Junior Division moves to the Championship round started on Saturday 2/16 as the 1st place Bull Dogs took on the 2006-2007 Champion The Wild in Game 1 of their best of 3 series.
The Wild scored a 2-0 win to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Game 2 on Sunday was a Wild game as The WILD defeated the Bull Dogs by a final of 3-1 to take home their 2nd consecutive Junior Division Championship..
The Bantam Division swung into the semi-final round on Saturday as the Bruins and Coyotes faced off at 12:45, with the Coyotes taking the series opener 5-3. The Demons challenged the Ball Hogz at 2:00, with the Ball Hogz winning by a final of 5-0. Game 2 of the Bantam series on Sunday, had the Ball Hogz and Demons at 12:45 with the Ball Hogz moving into the Championship with a 4-0 victory. The Coyotes and Bruins met at 2:00 and the Coyotes moved on by winning by a final of 5-3.
The Bantam Championship started on Friday evening 2/22 at 7:00pm as the Ball Hogz took a 1-0 series lead with a hard fought 3-2 victory. Game 2 on Saturday went to the BALL HOGZ by the final of 7-2, as they staked claim to their 2nd consecutive Bantam Divisional Championship.
