MARIJUANA

Please be advised that the Town of Markham staff have advised us that last Sunday evening during the period that we were playing our mens league some men visited the Upstairs Washrooms and shortly thereafter the smell of Marijuana  filled the area and the reception area along with the stairwell.

There are cameras in the facility so it can easily be determined who was visiting the said areas.

I trust that it was not any of our soccer players but please be advised that all of the cameras are monitored and as this is an illegal act the Town will act accordingly in the future.

Thanks

Proposed changes to the MSC Constitution

On Wednesday Nov 18th at the AGM MSC presented proposed changes to the CONSTITUTION.

It was agreed that all of these changes should be reviewed very carefully and as such were not passed at the meeting. A vote took place and it was decided that all MSC members should have the right to review the changes and submit by e-mail all of their comments to info@markhamsoccer.org by DECEMBER 2nd, 2009.

MSC will then review all of the suggestions and present the resulting proposed CONSTITUTION to members on Wednesday January 6th, 2010 at 7.30 P.M. at the MSC Mt Joy Boardroom (behind the goalposts on the opposite end to the change rooms at the facility) for voting on.

Please take time to read and submit your comments and proposed suggestions to MSC as stated above by Dec 2nd. It is very important that our Constitution is reviewed and any and all changes are addressed, so please give your constructive views and comments by Dec 2nd. to info@markhamsoccer.org

To REVIEW the Constitution with the proposed changes please go to the the main page of the MSC website www.markhamsoccer.org and proceed to the link.

Good evening of soccer with only a few short tempers surfacing. Over all some very good games were played.

Didn't see a TEAM get as many Tottenham goals but I did see some really great goals last night.

Just a tip to all my budget allows for me to only pay for one ref at each game so do yourself a favour just play and leave the reffing to them. I am watching and if I see anything untoward trust me I discuss it with the refs but not in front of you. That will never ever happen.

They are the refs not me so they are the ones with the authority over the game not me, however we  do have a very healthy relationship whereby we talk and they can advis me if I am mistaken in what I saw or if maybe on occasion I was correct. We do have great refs that allow the game to flow whilst enforcing the rules of soccer so please respect them.

Mind you I must say in one game if I had been the ref one player would have been asked to go to the dressing room and cool himself down and maybe even stay there.........

Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you next Sunday.

Results Week 4

Before I post the results:

I wish to remind all of the players we have refs and they are in control of the games.

You as players are there to enjoy the game and do everything legally possible to win the game whilst keeping your emotions under control so that everybody has fun. This is recreational soccer and I am sure all of you would like to go to work the next day in one piece.

It will make no difference if you agree or disagree with their calls as you will not be able to have them change their calls.  So why waste your time and energy. Put all of that energy into playing the game that you signed up to play.

What you will be doing is causing yourselves some grief as you will be increasing your emotions to a point where it can be very detremental to the game and probably will increase the chances of you getting cautioned.

I was hoping that this year we would be able to say we have "NO MONEY" to give to charity. However last night there were several melt downs and I have to say from some players that I least expected it from. So let us all turn that corner and keep our emotions under control and play the game the way it is meant to be played.

I am going to thank you in advance for this so please do not let me or yourselves down.

2009 Outdoor Fines

Hi

Two points of interest:

There are several players and teams that are still owing fines from the last games of the Outdoor season. I have a list and before these players and/or teams can play again with MSC the fines will have to be paid plus any and all suspensions will be have to be served at the commencement of the season that they return.

The total fines collected this season was $2800.00 and yesterday I delivered a cheque in the amount of $2500.00 to the Executive Director of Participation House.

The monies will be going to their Physiotherapy Department.

The $300. 00 balance will be used to provide clothes and toys to needy families in Markham at Christmas 2009.

The Economist & Sun will provide me with the needs and I will shop and deliver the items to the E&S and they will deliver them with all of the articles that they collect.

This will be our 3rd year doing this and participating with The Economist & Sun.

I am sad that we had fines to collect but I am pleased that we can at least give help and enjoyment to others from our misdeeds.

Regards

Eira K

Indoor 2009/10

Hi Everybody,

Well I have managed to abide by the ruling re Residency. As you know I found it to be a very difficult thing to do for so many of you that were affected have been with me since day one and  I am so sorry that I could not accomodate you this year in the league. I hope that the league I sent you to take a look at will be a great one for you and that I will see you all back again playing in my league/s.

I will try and stop by and see you play a game so send me your schedule when you get it.

Now over the next week I will be posting the team names  and all of the players on each team so you are up to date

With the new teams (some of you Captains have done this but those of you that haven't please send me the names ASAP)

The schedule will be posted  next week too as it is all done now and we will START games on Oct 18th  and we will end May 2nd. This is a 28 week period but with byes etc you will actually ALL play 22 games. There will be no playoffs this year so nobody will be eliminated you will all play each other twice so there will be some FRIENDLY and I mean friendly rivalry during the season I am sure...

The rules re cards and fines are posted under RULES so please ensure that you are fully aware of them BEFORE the season starts. Let's see if we can get through this season with as few cards and fines as possible. As much as I know you love giving monies to charity I would prefer if you would keep the monies in your bank accounts. The ball is as they say is "in your court"

Looking forward to seeing you all soon. I will e-mail the Captains when the shirts are here.
