UNITED ACADEMY NEWS
MSC UNITED SOCCER ACADEMY The MSC UNITED ACADEMY is dedicated to the development and growth of elite and travel players in the DC metropolitan area. We teach the fundamentals of the game of soccer, decision making and problem solving, individual skills, and futsal skills in a demanding practice and game environment. We at the MSC UNITED ACADEMY, believe that a foundation of fundamental, sound technical skills is critical for ELITE soccer players.Academy Director, Coach Julio Arjona, has 25 years of coaching elite youth soccer players and teams. The Academy was born of Coach Arjona's desire to teach young soccer players to love the game while developing a philosophy and playing style that would make them successful on and off of the field. For Coach Arjona, "United" means a love of the game of soccer, love and respect for teammates and coach, and most importantly, love for one’s self. "United" also means togetherness. The United Academy has players of many races, religions, creeds and languages...for the coach and founder, it is imperative that players transfer their pride in their cultural background to their love of the game of soccer. Currently, the MSC United Academy sponsors the MSC United 96 Premier and Classic at http://www.eteamz.com/olneyarsenal/, Olney United 98 Premeir and Elite at www.olneyunited.com, United Academy Arsenal, Manchester, Brasil, Real Madrid, and Barcelona futsal teams, United Academy Arsenal, Manchester United, and Brasil 3x3 teams at www.eteamz.active.com/mscunitedacademyinc .The academy works with Germantown Lighting U-15 Classic. Coach Arjona’s goal is to work with his players to produce quick minds and quick, intelligent moves on the soccer field. Hard work, dedication, and true commitment to the love of the game of soccer is both his philosophy and teaching style. The goal of the MSC UNITED Academy is to assemble teams with a multi-cultural flavor, tremendous commitment from players and parents focusing on the team concept rather than individual players. BETHESDA ROADRUNNERS AND MSC UNITED 92: The two teams produced quality players to the academy system and national level. RR and MSC were strong competition from early age. MSC United 92 never was able to beat the RR but they provided great competition in the league, tournaments, and state cup. From these teams, we have three players in the U-17 national team, 7 players in the DC United Academy and 5 players in the Potomac Academy.
